Software giant takes antitrust case to Supreme Court

Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001 | 11:01 a.m.

WASHINGTON -- Microsoft asked the Supreme Court on Tuesday to reverse a recent appeals court finding that the company had repeatedly violated antitrust law and to expunge all legal and factual findings in the case because of disparaging comments about the company made by the U.S. district judge hearing the case.

At the same time, Microsoft's lawyers asked the appeals court here to temporarily suspend all other legal proceedings connected with the government's antitrust case until the Supreme Court, which is in recess until October, decides whether to hear the case.
