Kids can take part in hike

The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers hikes and walks free of charge, but reservations are required for all programs, which begin at the Visitors Center. To make reservations or for information call 363-1922. Some upcoming programs:

Moenkopi Kids: Children's desert survival will be the topic for this one-mile moderately easy hike and program for ages 7 to adult.

Icebox Canyon Hike: Adults can join in on this three mile moderately strenuous hike through a "cool" canyon.

UBS schedules draws around valley

United Blood Services, 6930 W. Charleston Blvd., is offering blood drives at these locations:

Tuesday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Henderson City Hall, 200 Water St., Henderson; 9 a.m.-2 p.m., U.S. Food Service, 1685 W. Cheyenne Ave.; 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Stratosphere, 2000 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Wednesday: 3-8 p.m., Stratosphere; 9 a.m.-2 p.m., KB Home Nevada, Inc.; 8 a.m.-1 p.m., KB Home Studio, 7440 S. Industrial Road.

Thursday: 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Travel Centers of America, 8050 S. Industrial Road; 8 a.m.-noon, DOE, 232 Energy Way.

Friday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Texas Station, 2101 Texas Star Lane.

Saturday: 2:30-7:30 p.m., St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.

Monday: 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Levi Strauss and Co., 501 Executive Airport Drive.
