The ninth annual Las Vegas Music Festival continues Saturday through Aug. 16 at area venues. Admission to most events is $8 for adults; $5 for seniors and Clark County students. Call 229-6211 for details.
Classic numbers
A performance, sponsored by the Garold Gardner Scholarship Foundation, of Broadway music and dance and featuring numbers from "Cats," "Annie Get Your Gun," "Les Miserable," "Miss Saigon" and "Kiss Me Kate," among others, will be presented at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Las Vegas Little Theatre, 3844 Schiff Drive. Tickets are $12; $10 for seniors and students. Call 362-7996.
The Performing Arts Society of Nevada presents "Broadway Sound Connection," featuring performances by more than a dozen Las Vegas showroom headliners, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Winchester Center Theater, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Admission is $15 (proceeds benefit the Las Vegas Civic Light Opera and the Sound Foundation). Call 658-6741.
Performances scheduled
The "Jazz at Sunset" series continues from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Galleria at Sunset mall with a performance by Bobby Gant. Admission is free. Call 434-0202.
The jazz band Hermes will perform original compositions in a concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Whitney Library Performing Arts Center, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave. Tickets are $15. Call 256-5506.
Music for youth
The Young Arts Recital Series, featuring musicans ages 16-21, will be held Saturday at Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Admission is free.
Also at Reed Whipple, the city of Las Vegas' Children's Summer Concert Series conclues at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $3. Call 229-6211.
Lyle Cogen will headline the Young People's Summer Concert at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday at Winchester Community Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Tickets are $3. Call 455-7340.
