Free screenings

The West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd., presents its Steven Spielberg Film Festival beginning at 11:10 a.m. Saturday with a screening of "Amistad," followed at 2 p.m. by "Saving Private Ryan." The festival continues Aug. 12. Admission is free. Call 878-3597.

For the little ones

National Kids Day will be celebrated from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the Boys and Girls Club's Lied Memorial Facility at 2850 S. Lindell Road. Interactive games, balloon animals and face-painting activities will be featured. Former NFL star Mike Pritchard and Strip magician Michael Holly will be on hand.

'African Diaspora'

The yearlong season of "Voice of the African Diaspora" wraps up at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Moderated by Hasani Kefing Palacio, a discussion of African history, traditions and customs will be featured. Call 229-4800.
