Letter: Clinton-Bush gap almost comical
Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001 | 8:50 a.m.
Better than a breath of fresh air, a ray of sunshine or a vitamin shot, former President Clinton's intelligence, humor and coherent optimism brings new energy and vitality to America, after six months of the shrub's doom and gloom.
If the shrub's chief strategist (genius?) planned his speech on the same day as Clinton's speech in Harlem, he should immediately be relieved of duty. The contrast between the two is almost comical: Clinton is presidential, articulate and certain; Bush is fumbling, hesitant, a mere caricature of a leader.
In a few short hours, the right-wingers have gone berserk. Watch the Republican uglies creep out of the woodwork to continue their unsuccessful Clinton bashing -- they are truly very slow learners.
No wonder they are paranoid -- we're holding all the cards.
If you don't like what you've witnessed from this incompetent administration, then exercise your rights and vote them out -- and while you're cleaning house, let the cable "news" networks know you don't like their bias by turning them off -- they are aware when you do, and without ratings, they're history.
Americans, you have leverage, you can tilt the world -- do it!
