Gilley’s saloon sued over bull ride injury

A Las Vegas woman sued the Las Vegas Strip's New Frontier hotel-casino, its Gilley's Saloon, Dancehall and Bar-B-Que and the operator of Gilley's mechanical bull ride, alleging she was injured by the ride.
Roger and Shelly Polillo, who attended dinner at Gilley's on Sep. 14, 1999, sued the hotel-casino, Gilley's and Brent Holden, the operator of its bull ride attraction, in Clark County District Court on Monday.
Shelly, who said she specifically told Holden to not execute turns or try to throw her off the bull ride, said Holden didn't stop the ride even though she yelled "Stop the Bull" several times for the first 20 seconds of the ride.
Shelly, who said Holden continued to run the ride for about 37 more seconds, said she was thrown off the ride because the defendants failed to provide adequate safety measures for consumers to exit the ride and failed to properly supervise Holden.
The defendants could not be reached for comment.
