State has 1,906 more registered Democrats than Republicans

CARSON CITY -- Democrats held a 1,906 voter registration edge over Republicans at the end of June, Secretary of State Dean Heller reported today.
The total active voters reached 905,518, with about 4,900 people signing up in June.
Voter registration, he said is a "positive first step toward increased political participation."
Democrats outnumbered Republicans 377,779 to 375,873 among active voters. Heller said the major political parties signed up 3,947 new members during the month with Democrats gaining 2,137 of that total.
There were 126,160 registered as non-partisan; 4,900 Libertarians; 1,829 Green; 15,824 Independent American; 577 Natural Law; 789 Reform and 1,787 in other designations.
