Pat Basch

Pat Basch, 73, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Cleveland. A resident for 15 years, she was a schoolteacher.

She is survived by four daughters, Pat Angus of Milwaukie, Ore., Sharon McCann of Columbus, Ohio, Zenia Quarnberg of Henderson and Robin Mauser of Kingman, Ariz.; one brother, Buddy Ridge of Columbus; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Jerry Maurice Blunck

Jerry Maurice Blunck, 52, of Boulder City died Monday in Boulder City. He was born March 22, 1949. A resident for 21 years, he was a groundskeeper for the school district and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by five daughters, Erin Blunck of Redlands, Calif., Mary Ann Blunck of Boulder City and Jennifer Blunck, Kristyn Blunck and Robin Blunck, all of Salt Lake City; one son, Brian Blunck of Boulder City; his father, Rulon Blunck of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three brothers, David Blunck of Santa Clara, Utah, Ron Blunck of Colorado Springs and Karl Blunck of Springville, Utah.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Friday in the Buchanan Boulevard LDS chapel, 1550 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Mary Deborah Busto

Mary Deborah Busto, 45, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1955, in Butte, Mont. A resident for seven years, she was an office manager for a real estate firm.

She is survived by two sons, Robert C. Sena and Alain F. Busto, both of Albuquerque; her mother, Ruth Cates of San Diego; her father, Daniel Sena of Las Vegas; one brother, Daniel Sena of Surprise, Ariz.; six sisters, Iona Vallejos of Winslow, Ariz., Dana Jeter of Mesquite and Rachel Pitkin, Teresa Duran, Patsy Ancho and Catherine Procter, all of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at1 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary's chapel, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

John 'JD' Dickinson

John "JD" Dickinson, 40, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born March 31, 1961, in San Francisco. A resident for 22 years, he was a roofer.

He is survived by his father, Ronald Dickinson, and one sister, Ellen Dickinson, both of Las Vegas; four brothers, Steve Dickinson of San Bruno, Calif., Jim Dickinson of Novato, Calif., Dan Dickinson of San Francisco and Dennis Dickinson of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Alma Brown of Hayward, Calif.

Services will be noon Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Lawrence Esposito

Lawrence Esposito, 80, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. He was born May 7, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired police officer, a World War II Army veteran and a former member of American Legion Post 15.

He is survived by four daughters, Gail Owens of West Covina, Calif., Theresa Heck of Cheny, Kan., Susan Vella of Henderson and Brenda Fisher of Missoula, Mont.; six sons, Tom Esposito and Paul Esposito, both of Boise, Idaho, and Steven Esposito, David Esposito, Joseph Esposito and Ricky Esposito, all of Henderson; 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 2-4 p.m. today with a 5 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Elvira Mary Plumleigh Folkman

Elvira Mary Plumleigh Folkman, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born June 26, 1929, in East Chicago, Ind. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired hotel waitress and an Air Force veteran.

She is survived by one son, Darryl T. Plumleigh of Las Vegas; one daughter, Cheryl D. Schwarz of Henderson; one brother, Peter Nava of Spokane, Wash.; three sisters, Connie Fritz of Aumsville, Ore., Lenore Krisfaluzy of Manhattan, Kan., and Lupe Nava of Chicago; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Michael John Giuliano

Michael John Giuliano, 48, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 12, 1952, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 27 years, he was an exhibit assembler at convention centers.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie; his father, Anthony Giuliano; four brothers, Anthony M. Giuliano, Gene Giuliano, John Giuliano and Donald Giuliano; and three sisters, Annette Gallagher, Lisa Giuliano and Lori Giuliano.

Services will 1 p.m. Friday in Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Richard J. Gonthier

Richard J. Gonthier, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 4, 1944, in Duluth, Minn. A resident for 30 years, he was a warehouseman in the casino industry.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen; two sons, Richard Gonthier and Brent Gonthier, both of Las Vegas; four brothers, Hugh Gonthier of California, Bob Gonthier of Idaho and Joe Gonthier and Jerry Gonthier, both of Arkansas; and one sister, Pat Pelch of Idaho.

Norma Jane Goudie

Norma Jane Goudie, 65, of Boulder City died Saturday in Boulder City. She was born March 23, 1936, in Shenandoah, Iowa. A resident for 47 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Danny Goudie of Las Vegas and Lewis Goudie of Palmdale, Calif.; one brother, Bob Burham of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

John Hayes, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 26, 1932, in Blanchard, Okla. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired teacher and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; three daughters, Pamela Hayes of San Francisco, Shelley Hayes of Los Angeles and Leslie McCann of Saugus, Calif.; one son, Tim Hayes of Laguna Beach, Calif.; one sister, Vi Klopfenstine of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Clyde M. Hendricks

Clyde M. Hendricks, 72, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born June 11, 1929, in Portsmouth, Ohio. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired director of marketing for the former American Federal Savings and Loan Association in Las Vegas and held similar positions with American Savings and Loan in Stockton, Calif., and Pepsi Cola in Ventura, Calif., co-founded the Goleta Gazette newspaper and was an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Kertz Hendricks; two sons, Kevin Carter of Vineland, N.J., and Gary Carter of Waterford, N.Y.; and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

LaTasha Jackson, 19, of Las Vegas died July 25 in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 26, 1982, in Las Vegas. A lifetime resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Lorena Jackson, one son, Marshall Jackson, her mother, Sandra Jackson, her stepfather, Earl Davis, three sisters, LaToya Jackson, Reshunda Jackson and Lekeisha Jackson, and her grandmother, Bernice Jackson, all of Las Vegas.

Ethel M. Jones

Ethel M. Jones, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born June 23, 1917, in Dicksonburg, Pa. A resident for eight years, she was a retired instructor for a manufacturing company.

She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Grode of Las Vegas; two sons, Ray Jones of Las Vegas and William Jones of New York City; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to noon services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Irving Knispel

Irving Knispel, 92, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. He was born Jan. 28, 1909, in Europe. A longtime resident, he was a jeweler.

He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Herriot of Henderson.

Bonnibel Machen

Bonnibel Machen, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born April 10, 1929, in Ovid, Mich. A resident for 41 years, she was a government clerk.

She is survived by two sons, Wade Machen and Gary Machen, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Jane Robson of Acworth, Ga. A resident for 41 years, she was a government clerk.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Katherine A. Mandela

Katherine A. Mandela, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born April 1, 1915, in Winburne, Pa. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two daughters, Kathy Apalategui of Las Vegas and Karen Goloskie of Saugus, Calif.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Richard Valdez Marquez

Richard Valdez Marquez, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in Primm. He was born March 7, 1920, in Arizona. A resident for six months, he was a boilermaker.

He is survived by one daughter, June Marquez.

Martin Eugene McClay

Martin Eugene McClay, 76, of Pahrump died Saturday. He was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Altadena, Calif. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired employee in government service, a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran, a missionary for 16 years and a Boy Scout leader for 29 years.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty; three sons, Bruce of Concord, Calif., Wayne of Pine Grove, Calif., Patrick of Modesto, Calif.; one daughter, Karen Hatfield of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Donald A. Millette, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 23, 1915, in Freda, Mich. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired teacher and former adjunct at UNLV and Community College of Southern Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; and one son, Donald R. Millette of Las Vegas.

Raul Ochoa

Raul Ochoa, 31, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 23, 1969, in Mexico. A resident for two years, he was a casino steward.

He is survived by his wife, Alicia; three daughters, Jeanette Ochoa, Cynthia Marie Ochoa and Vianey Ochoa, and one son, Raul Ochoa Jr. all of Las Vegas; his mother and father, Micaela and Vicente Ochoa, 13 sisters, Jesusita Martinez, Guadalupe Martinez, Beatriz Martinez, Rosario Martinez, Socorro Guillen, Leticia Esquivel, Margarita Sanchez, Irma Ochoa, Olga Ochoa, Francisca Ochoa, Norma Ochoa, Blanca Ochoa and Lourdes Ochoa, two brothers, Vicente Ochoa and Ceasar Ochoa, and his grandmother, Beatriz Rodriquez, all of Mexico.

Shin 'Lia' Petty

Shin "Lia" Petty, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1940, in Seoul, Korea. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Victor; one daughter, Annette of Seoul; three sisters; and three grandchildren.

Harry B. Rantz Jr.

Harry B. Rantz Jr., 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 10, 1929, in Melrose, Mass. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired Navy chief who served 30 years and was a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and was a member of the USS Coral Sea Association.

He is survived by his wife, Edda; two sons, Harry Rantz III of Las Vegas and Norman Rantz of Boca Raton, Fla.; one brother, Warren Rantz of Lowell, Mass.; and four grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons, Paul E. Roberts Jr. of Germany, Dennis G. Roberts of San Antonio, Keith C. Roberts of New Jersey and Kevin R. Roberts of Pahrump; one daughter, Minette Curnutt of Las Vegas; two sisters, Claire Hardaker and Elayne Bryant, and three brothers, Charlie Miller, Bill Miller and Ed Miller, all of Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Donald 'Bud' Sandford, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 13, 1933, in Berkeley, Calif. A resident for 43 years, he was a grocery store salesman and porcelain art teacher, an Air Force veteran, a member of the Las Vegas Porcelain Club and Association of Retired Persons Club.

He is survived by one brother, Bill Sandford of Fort Jones, Calif.; and two sisters, his twin Donna Hudson of Jackson, Mich., and Lee Wallace of Glendale, Ariz.

John Eric Sandoval, 24, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Texas. He was born Sept. 8, 1976, in McAllen, Texas. A resident for two years, he was a student.

He is survived by his parents, Sylvia and Ramiro A. Sandoval Jr., one sister, Vanessa Sandoval, and one brother, Alexis Rene Sandoval, all of Las Vegas.

Henry O. Scott

Henry O. Scott, 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Mangum, Okla. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired railroad mechanic and World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Wanda Fox and Avoia Lee, one son, Tim Scott, and one brother, Richard G. Scott, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Richard G. Scott of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Lester D. Smithers

Lester D. Smithers, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday. He was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Auburn, Neb. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired electrician in the construction industry and a World War II Coast Guard veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta.

April Lynn Sullivan

April Lynn Sullivan, 56, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1944, in Chicago. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired cashier for a home improvement store, a member of the Women of the Moose 1405 and a retired member of Retail Clerks Local 770.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; one daughter, Susan Davis of Henderson; and one stepson, Frank Sullivan of San Diego.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Rodel V. Umali, 38, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 9, 1963, in the Philippines. A resident for five years, he was a lab technician.

He is survived by his wife, Sherrie A.; three daughters, Stephanie Coriano of Las Vegas and Rolynn Umali and Ronni Umali, both of Glendale, Calif.; one son, Joseph Coriano of Las Vegas; and his mother, Miriam Umali of Glendale.

Gregorio Wielesiuk

Gregorio Wielesiuk, 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 6, 1948, in Argentina. A resident for 33 years, he was an auto body repairman and a member of the Argentinian Club.

He is survived by one daughter, Laila Carolina Wielesink of Argentina; three brothers; and three sisters.

Herbert James Williams

Herbert James Williams, 64, of Henderson died July 20 in Henderson. He was born Nov. 30, 1936, in Chicago. A resident for six months, he was an electrician, a mechanic and a veteran.

He is survived by five children; his mother, Anne Davenport of Las Vegas; his father, James Williams of Paris, Calif.; one brother, Patricia Williams of Covina, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren.

Charles M. Witt

Charles M. Witt, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 17, 1916, in Boston. A resident for 30 years, he was a real estate salesman and a veteran of the Merchant Marines.

He is survived by one son, Peter A. Witt, and one daughter, Kathy Burkett, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Emanual Witt, and one sister, Helen Slotnick, both of Boston; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
