Hikers can learn about coyote tales

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers hikes and walks free of charge, but reservations are required for all programs, which begin at the Visitors Center. To make reservations or for information call 363-1922. Some upcoming programs:

The Noble Coyote: Ages 12 to adult can join this moderate two-mile hike to Pine Creek Friday while discussing the myths associated with the coyote.

Moonlight on Mount Charleston: Ages 12 to adult can enjoy this three-hour, four-mile moderately-strenuous hike along the North Loop Trail. Meet at the Mount Charleston hotel.

Calico Tanks Hike: Ages 12 to adult are welcome on this two-mile moderate hike while discussing the wildlife that must come to this important desert water source.

National Night Out planned on Tuesday

The sixth annual National Night Out, an event sponsored by the North Las Vegas Police Crime Prevention Division, will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Goynes Park on Washburn Road.

This is an opportunity for citizens to learn how to fight crime. Thirty exhibitors from several area agencies will be present. Call Nicole Hugins at 633-1810 for information.

More than 20 headliners

and lead singers from eight Las Vegas showrooms will perform in "Broadway Sound Connection" 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Winchester Theater, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Admission is $15. For tickets and/or reservations, call 658-6741.

A full-moon hike

hosted by the Lake Mead National Recreation Area will be 8 p.m. Sunday at the ranger stations at Boulder Beach and OvertonBeach. Call 293-8990 for reservations or information.
