A UNLV dean has been appointed Nevada representative to the board of the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF).
Martha Watson, dean of the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, will serve as a liaison between WESTAF and the arts communities in Nevada. She has a doctorate in communications, has authored numerous academic articles and several books and she has been involved in higher education for many years.
"I will be working with a number of people and organizations to help foster and promote the vibrant and growing arts community we have here in Nevada and throughout the West," Watson said.
WESTAF works to preserve the arts in the Western States of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
