Valley, Rancho stars choose their colleges

Valley's Sam Jackson and Rancho's Billy Rosado, two of Southern Nevada's top prep athletes, have signed letters of intent with Division I colleges.

Jackson, a 6-3 basketball shooting guard, selected the University of Idaho of the Big West Conference. A member of the Sun's all-state first team, Jackson averaged 24 points, 7.6 rebounds and four steals for the Vikings last season.

Rosado, a star for the Rams' wrestling squad, signed with the Air Force Academy of the Western Athletic Conference. Rosado captured back-to-back 125-pound 4A state titles in 2000 and 2001.
