Friday, April 27, 2001 | 10:54 a.m.
The last time it played a match back on April 7, an injury-plagued UNLV men's tennis team handed Air Force its biggest victory in school history by falling 4-2.
On Thursday, a rested and healthy Rebel squad got revenge by shutting out the Falcons 4-0 in the first round of the Mountain West Conference championships in Salt Lake City.
Third-seeded UNLV improved to 12-9 overall and 3-3 in the league while sixth-seeded Air Force fell to 16-11 and 1-5. The Rebels advance to take on second-seeded New Mexico in one of today's semifinals after the Lobos received a first-round bye.
