Letter: Communism is far from dead

Back in the '60s, I had a barber in Michigan, who was a philosopher as it turned out. He used to say the Soviet Union was not our major adversary, and we should not worry about it, because it would collapse under its own weight. He was right. He also said that China would be our most dangerous adversary, and he was right on that, too.
Republicans were ecstatic when the Soviet Union imploded from within, said communism was dead and credited Reagan with its demise. Pure bunk! Communism is alive and well in China, and Bush will not do anything that will jeopardize the profits of his friends in corporate America, who are using that cheap labor and depriving union Americans of their jobs.
Is it not ironic that Bush's uncle, Prescott Bush, was in China at the very time of the crew members' negotiations? Why was Prescott Bush there? Some say he was there drumming up business. Cute, eh? Stay tuned.
