Friday, April 27, 2001 | 9:27 a.m.
Melinda, First Lady of Magic's first producer was her mother, Bonnie Saxe. Melinda's path as a performer took her locally from Bourbon Street to the Landmark, and then to the improvised showroom at the Lady Luck. A few years later Melinda went on her own to perform in Florida. Magician Steve Wyrick (currently at the Sahara) followed Melinda into the Lady Luck. Melinda went from Florida to successful stands in Atlantic City and Branson, Mo., and is now at the Venetian. Her brother, David, who became her producer at the Lady Luck, remains in that position.
