Bodies found in three homicides

Metro Police are investigating three unrelated homicides after bodies were found Thursday in a hotel room, a construction site and west of Laughlin.
Skeletal remains were discovered about 9 a.m. at the site of the under-construction Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy near J Street and West Lake Mead Boulevard.
Homicide detectives said the remains had probably been at the site for at least a year and that they were found buried about 2 feet.
About an hour later police responded to the Maxim hotel at 160 E. Flamingo Road after a hotel employee found a body while cleaning a guest room.
The body was wrapped in a plastic bag. Detectives did not examine it, opting to wait until it could be examined by a medical examiner in the Clark County coroner's office.
Detectives are working to determine the identity of the guest who last checked into the room, Lt. Wayne Petersen said.
About 11:45 a.m. police received a call from a jogger who found a body in the desert west of Laughlin.
The victim is a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6 feet tall, and between 180 and 200 pounds, police said. The victim was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and white athletic shoes, and he had an obvious injury in the head.
The homicide probably occurred in the 24 hours prior to the body's discovery, Petersen said.
