Benjamin Barton and Holly Barton

Benjamin Barton, 8, and Holly Barton, 33, mother and son, both of Las Vegas died Sunday. Benjamin was born Feb. 21, 1993, and Holly was born Aug. 21, 1967, both in Las Vegas. Holly was a teacher at Chaparral High School and a Western High School graduate.

Holly is surved by her husband, James Barton; two daughters, Rebekah Barton and Ellee Barton, and one son, Matthew Barton, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Joyce Wasden of St. George, Utah; and three sisters, Kelly Cram and Karyn Albright, both of Las Vegas, and Whitney Bleazard of St. George. Benjamin is also survived by his parternal grandparents, Dennis and Lavaughn Barton of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled noon until 1 p.m. services Monday in the LDS Lone Mountain Stake Center. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

The family suggests donations to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.

Carolyn Baxter

Carolyn Baxter, 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born March 12, 1931, in Chicago. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Joy Baxter of Las Vegas and Adrienne Rudy of Long Beach, Calif.; and one son, Michael Baxter of Oxnard, Calif.

Visitation is private. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Preston 'Sam' Boyd

Preston "Sam" Boyd, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born July 10, 1918, in Wood, S.D. A resident for 30 years, he was a civil service foreman and a retired World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Jean Younker of Maple Valley, Wash., and Anna Koker of Pahrump; one sister, Effie Boyd of South Dakota; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Emmanuel Lee 'B' Braden

Emmanuel Lee "B" Braden, 73, of Pahrump died Tuesday in Pahrump. He was born May 28, 1927, in Bernardo, Texas. A resident for 24 years, he was a teacher and coach for 11 years and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Gene "Sing"; one daughter, Betty Braden-Navarro of Denver; one son, Robert Braden of Las Vegas; three brothers, Leonard Braden, Charles Braden and Earl Braden, all of Texas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-5 p.m. Saturday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd. Services will be 3:15 p.m. Sunday in Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

Theda Louise Bryant

Theda Louise Bryant, 95, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 1, 1906, in Plymouth, N.H. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Ann Louise Boydston of Boulder, Colo.; one son, William Bryant of Henderson; one brother, Richard Learned of Rumney, N.H.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Nancy Cemo

Nancy Cemo, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 29, 1917, in California. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Grand Avenue Methodist Church choir and Zonta Club and Hospital League volunteer, all in Porterville, Calif.

She is survived by two daughters, Ellen Schloss of Las Vegas and Judy Hanson of Pacifica, Calif.; one sister, Alice Dunbar of Porterville; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Porterville. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Youssef Chouafi

Youssef Chouafi, 39, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 26, 1962, in Morocco. A resident for 16 years, he was a marble layer in the construction industry.

He is survived by one daughter, Hanna Sabrina Felton; his mother, Hnya; five brothers, Najib, Mustapha, Abdel-Karim, Hassan and Jamal; and three sisters, Khadiha, Naima and Latifa.

Services will be 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Friday in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Anne M. Clancy

Anne M. Clancy, 80, of Las Vegas died April 14 in local care center. She was born July 10, 1920, in Hastings, Minn. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker and a volunteer at various Catholic nursing homes.

She is survived by one son, Michael Clancy of Chicago; one daughter, Susan Martin of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

No local services were scheduled. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Sapia Delaney

Sapia Delaney, 96, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Jan. 31, 1905, in Chaneyville, La. A resident for 37 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one grandchild, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 1 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Albert M. Gerali

Albert M. Gerali, 73, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Illinois. A resident for eight years, he was a salesman in the construction industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Peter C. Gerali and Robert Gerali, both of Illinois; one brother, Peter A. Gerali of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

Richard David Gonzales

Richard David Gonzales, 40, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 21, 1960, in Albuquerque, N.M. A resident for 12 years, he was a truss builder in the construction industry.

He is survived by his wife, Esther; one daughter, Kathy Liliana Gonzales, and four sons, Eduardo Gonzales, Richard David Gonzales Jr., Gilbert M. Gonzales and Angel Gonzales, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Lucy Gonzales, and four brothers, Jose Gonzales, Michael Gonzales, Eloy Gonzales and Vicente Gonzales, all of Henderson; and three sisters, Rose Gonzales of Las Vegas and Ila Gonzales and Diana Gonzales, both of Henderson.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Evelyn Grayson

Evelyn Grayson, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born May 18, 1918, in Pelahatchie, Miss. A resident for more than 50 years, she was a retired nurse's aide.

She is survived by two daughters, Annie Turner and Kamaria Osayande, both of Las Vegas; one son, Kordye Turner of El Cerrito, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in New Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Charles Lee Grinstead

Charles Lee Grinstead, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 17, 1935, in Kentucky. A resident for four years, he was a heating and air conditioning engineer, a Navy and Air Force veteran and a member of the Fleet Reserve.

He is survived by his wife, Millicent; two sons, Dorian Leniar and Jason Grinstead; two grandchildren and four godchildren.

Mae Ola Hamilton

Mae Ola Hamilton, 87, of Las Vegas died April 17 in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 27, 1914, in Gillan, Ark. A resident for 58 years, she was a wardrobe lady/seamstress and a member of International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 720.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Hamilton and David Hamilton, and one brother, Paul Bruce, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Edna J. Johnson

Edna J. Johnson, 93, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born June 4, 1907, in Oklahoma. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired inventory control clerk for a manufacturing firm.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Harrison of Las Vegas; five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be in Riverside, Calif. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Ronald P. Kowalski

Ronald P. Kowalski, 63, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born May 17, 1937, in Chicago. A resident for three years, he was a retired machinist and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one son, Ron Kowalski of Henderson; one daughter, Nancy Huberty of Torrance, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Dennis McCullah

Dennis McCullah, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 21, 1921, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 47 years, he was a retired maintenance worker for the housing authority and a member of Masons 2001 Imperial Council.

He is survived by his wife, Renteel; four daughters, Gloria Dean Smith, Leatrice Ewing, Shirley Ann Towers and Kathleen McCullah, and two sons, Dennis McCullah Jr. and Tony C. McCullah, all of Las Vegas; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Edgar B. 'Bert' McReynolds Jr.

Edgar B. "Bert" McReynolds Jr., 69, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 1, 1931, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for three years, he was an electronics engineer, an Air Force veteran, a member of Old Mission Masonic Lodge, the Abdallah Shrine and the Rio Rancho Golf and Country Club.

He is survived by his companion, Judith Nathan of Henderson; two daughters, Caryn Hontz of Kansas City, Kan., and Kristina Katzovitz of Oak Brook, Ill.; one son, Edgar B. McReynolds III of Shawnee, Kan.; four brothers, Gerald G. McReynolds of West Covina, Calif., Paul R. McReynolds of Claremont, Calif., Donald L. McReynolds of Murphy, Calif., and John K. McReynolds of Lawndale, Calif.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.

Charles Joseph O'Neill

Charles Joseph O'Neill, 86, of Eagle, Idaho, died Monday in Eagle. He was born Aug. 11, 1914, in Butte, Mont. A resident of Las Vegas for more than 30 years, he was a retired machinist in the steel industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Charles Joseph O'Neill of Boise, Idaho; and two grandchildren.

Services were 2 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Alex M. Pappin

Alex M. Pappin, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born May 21, 1925, in Pawhuska, Okla. A resident for three years, he was a retired deputy sheriff and a World War II and Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Nell; three daughters, Linda Bullington of Long Beach, Calif., and Kari Niemi and Anna Johnson, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Jim Bullington of Kernville, Calif., and Matt Pappin of Brownsville, Ore.; one sister, Mary Lou Brown of Aurora, Ore.; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 9:30 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Gilbert Leroy Powell

Gilbert Leroy Powell, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Montana. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jerry; two sons, David Powell and John Howard; two daughters, Lisa Franzblau and Jennifer Finger; and 10 grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Ray M. Puls

Ray M. Puls, 69, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 23, 1931, in Anthony, Kan. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired civil engineer, a Korean War Marine Corps veteran and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one daughter, Laura Ann; three sons, Donald Ray Puls, Larry Gene Puls and Dean Earl Puls, and one sister, Sheila Wilson, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Mark Puls; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Joseph Romance

Joseph Romance, 94, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 30, 1906, in Erie, Pa. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired automobile mechanic.

He is survived by one son, Joe Romance of Las Vegas; three sisters, Katie Kohut of Albion, Pa., Eva Regala of Erie and Mary of Florida; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Lillian Stanley

Lillian Stanley, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born May 11, 1912, in Ireland. A resident for 57 years, she was a retired Centel bookkeeper for more than 20 years.

She is survived by one son, Glen Stanley of Pahrump; one daughter, Joan Dodge of Citrus Heights, Calif.; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 9 a.m. until noon services today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services followed at 1 p.m. today in Palm Memorial Park.

Anthony M. Valentino

Anthony M. Valentino, 60, of Las Vegas died April 18 in Las Vegas. A tour bus driver, he was born July 6, 1940, in Indiana.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; one son, Anthony Jr.; one daughter, Christina; his mother, Thelma Falck, one sister, Sandy, and three brothers, David, Paul and John, all of Florida.

Burial will be in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Alexander Eugene Weber

Alexander Eugene Weber, 56, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 21, 1944, in Henderson. A lifelong resident, he was a plumber.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Laura Qualls and Dannielle Chandler, both of Henderson; three sons, Alexander Eugene Weber II of Las Vegas and Alexander Justin Jakob Weber and William James Drake, both of Henderson; three sisters, Norma Raker of Cheyenne, Wyo., Cassandra Weber of Arkansas and Nancy Weber of Washington state; and three grandchildren.

Billy Junior Welch

Billy Junior Welch, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday. He was born June 8, 1927, in Akron, Ohio. A resident for 29 years, he was a retired Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by one son, William D. Welch; and one daughter, Jeanette E. May.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara A.; two daughters, Elma V. Hill and Deborah A. Smith, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
