Florene Abernathy
Florene Abernathy, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 4, 1916, in Pennsylvania. A resident for many years, she was an auto assembler.
She is survived by one son, William Abernathy of Las Vegas.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Flint, Mich. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Daniel Antonio Andre
Daniel Antonio Andre, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 19, 1919, in New Bedford, Mass. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired automotive mechanic and a World War II Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Teresa; one daughter, Rosemaria Andre of Las Vegas; two sons, Antonio D. Andre of Ontario, Calif., and Michael C. Andre of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Virginia Barton
Virginia Barton, 84, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born March 6, 1917, in Altamonte, Mo. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, C. Blaine Barton; three daughters, Sherry Cogeshall, Sue Corbin and Heather Converse; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

John C. Basile
John C. Basile, 69, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. A resident for 16 years, he was born July 15, 1931, in Chicago.
He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Earley of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Carmella Thomas of Las Vegas; four sons, John H. Basile of Culver City, Calif., Anthony J. Basile of Chicago, Joseph Basile of Burr Ridge, Ill., and Louis Basile of Las Vegas; two brothers, Andrew Basile of Las Vegas and Anthony Basile of Chicago; one sister, Delores Closterides of Addison, Ill.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Illinois.
W.D. 'Don' Battenfield
W.D. 'Don' Battenfield, 75, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 19, 1925, in Gotebo, Okla. A resident for five years, he was a retired automobile salesman and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Effie; two daughters, Lynda Alexander of Las Vegas and Peggy Scott of Fontana, Calif.; one son, Donnie Battenfield of Chico, Calif.; two sisters, Janice Sue Labar of Gustine, Calif., and Othlee Vargas of Derby, Kan.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to noon services Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Brian L. Cooper
Brian L. Cooper, 30, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born Oct. 7, 1970, in Fort Gordon, Ga. A resident for 21 years, he was a land surveyor for AAC&C Engineering.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; one daughter, Jessica L. Cooper, one stepson, Forrest Pool, and one stepdaughter, Skylar Pool, all of Las Vegas; his parents, Cynthia and David Cooper, and two sisters, Jennifer Cooper and Stephanie Cooper, all of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; and his grandparents, Katherine Cooper of Ocala, Fla., and Etna and George Zettlemoyer of Boca Raton, Fla.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
Roy 'Frank' Hall
Roy "Frank" Hall, 93, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 28, 1907, in Tupelo, Miss. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired oil and gas industry executive, a member of the board of directors of Stinnes Corp. of New York, president of Precision National Corp., and involved in charities in several cities including Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Doris L.; two daughters, Virginia Mae Bowser of Thornton, Colo., and Nancy Edwards of Las Vegas; one son, Gary F. Hall of Vail, Colo.; one brother, John Hall of LaMesa, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Mae Ola Hamilton
Mae Ola Hamilton, 87, of Las Vegas died April 17 in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 27, 1914, in Gillan, Ark. A resident for 58 years, she was a wardrobe lady at the Showboat hotel.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Hamilton and David Hamilton, and one brother, Paul Bruce, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Loy R. Harris
Loy R. Harris, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. A resident for 43 years, he was born May 17, 1936, in Delhi, La.
He is survived by his wife, Cora; five sons, Loy Harris Jr., Jackie Harris and Larry Harris, all of California, Ricky Williams of Miami and Darrell Taylor of Las Vegas; four daughters, Mickey Williams, Deanna Bircher and Zena Taylor, all of Las Vegas, and Shevon of Delhi; four brothers, Sherman Hall and William Wilson, both of Los Angeles, and Rufus Washington and Curtis Wilson, both of Las Vegas; four sisters, Ruby Lee, Lora Hall and Verlean Shoals, all of Los Angeles, and Lena Carter of Austin, Texas.
Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in True Love Missionary Baptist Church, 1941 N. H St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Emma M. Hermans
Emma M. Hermans, 72, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Paterson, N.J. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Glenn Hermans of Glendale, Ariz., and Wayne Hermans of North Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. services in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Joe L. Howard
Joe L. Howard, 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. A resident for 42 years, he was born April 11, 1937, in Madison, La.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Broedel of Las Vegas and Angela Coleman of New Orleans; four brothers, Jim Howard, Allen Howard and Joe Louis Howard, all of Las Vegas, and Percy Howard of Louisiana; one sister, Dorothy Crew of Los Angeles; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Eugene A. Kepner
Eugene A. Kepner, 71, of Henderson died Thursday in a local care center. He was born Dec. 25, 1929, in Rose, N.Y. A resident for nine years, he was a retired food service salesman and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by two daughters; two sons; three sisters, Mary Lou Van Hoff of Henderson, June Blake of Clyde, N.Y., and Alyce Blankenberg of Newark, N.Y.; one brother, Lynn Drury of Red Creek, N.Y.; and one grandchild.

Naomi B. Klein
Naomi B. Klein, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 21, 1920, in Keyport, N.J. A resident for six years, she was a retired broker for a manufacturing company, an Army tech sergeant and World War II veteran and a member of Deborah Foundation.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney; one daughter, Barbara Narcisco of Basking Ridge, N.J.; one son, Irwin Klein of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother, Sheldon Brook of Orlando, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling private arrangements.

Harry M. Massie, 48, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A resident for four years, he was born June 6, 1952, in Gary, Ind.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; one daughter, Delilah Coleman of Las Vegas; two sons, Arthur E. Bannon Jr. of Las Vegas and John A. Massie of Gary, Ind.; and two grandchildren.

K.T. Mays
K.T. Mays, 83, of Las Vegas died April 16 in Las Vegas. A resident for 22 years, she was born June 12, 1917, in Gallman, Miss.
She is survived by her husband, Owen R.; two sons, J.D. Allen Jr. and Robert O. Mays, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Mary Jane Burns of Nashwauk, Minn., and Barbara Pohl of Las Vegas; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in College Park Baptist Church, 2101 E. Owens Ave., North Las Vegas. Burial will be private. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
William McGarry
William McGarry, 75, of Las Vegas died Friday in Costa Mesa, Calif. He was born April 8, 1926, in New York. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired senior vice president at Nevada Power.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie; three daughters, Joan Mango of Huntington Beach, Calif., Rita Elliot of Las Vegas and Susan Hague of New Jersey; two sons, Bill McGarry of Las Vegas and Patrick McGarry of South Burwick, Maine; four stepsons, Reese Kelle and Tom Mossman, both of Las Vegas, Steve Kelle of Braman, Okla., and John Mossman of Lawndale, Calif.; one sister, Kathleen Muller, and one brother, Jack McGarry, both of Schenectady, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Bill Newsome, 69, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1931, in England. A resident for 3 1/2 years, he was a retired appliance manager.
He is survived by his wife, Margie; one daughter, Susan Dieffenbach of Phoenix; one brother, Al Newsome of Granite City, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Alex M. Pappin
Alex M. Pappin, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born May 21, 1925, in Pawhuska, Okla. A resident for three years, he was a retired deputy sheriff and a World War II and Korean War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Nell; two daughters, Linda Bullington of Long Beach, Calif., and Anna Johnson of Las Vegas; two sons, Jim Bullington of Kernville, Calif., and Matt Pappin of Brownsville, Ore.; one sister, Mary Lou Brown of Aurora, Ore.; and six grandchildren.
A prayer service will be 6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Joseph Mac Pettey
Joseph Mac Pettey, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 9, 1944, in Cedar City, Utah. A resident for 49 years, he was a vice president of an automotive firm and a Vietnam War Army veteran.
He is survived by one brother, Jerry R. Pettey of Van Buren, Ark.
Visitation is scheduled 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
Ralph Arcangelo Prenesti Sr.
Ralph Arcangelo Prenesti Sr., 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in Thousand Oaks, Calif. He was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A former Las Vegas resident for 12 years, he was an entrepreneur, artist and sportsman.
He is survived by two daughters, Gerette Prenesti, and Renee Fagan of New Jersey; three sons, Don Prenesti of California, Michael Prenesti of Las Vegas and Ralph A. Prenesti Jr.; two sisters, Vincenza Martin of California and Judy Prenesti of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Philip H. Prentice
Philip H. Prentice, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born April 16, 1940, in Detroit Lakes City, Minn. A resident for 43 years, he was a retired hotel sign shop supervisor, a member of Painters Local 159 for 40 years and a member of Sin City Car Club.
He is survived by two sons, Jim Prentice and Terry Prentice, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Betty Jensen of Beaverton, Ore., and Marion Dover of Vacaville, Calif.; one brother, Bruce Prentice of Zeeland, Mich.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph Rodda and Pablo Rodda, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Carole D. Stocker, 62, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born April 19, 1939, in Boston. A resident for 13 years, she was retired.
She is survived by her husband, Frederic L.; one daughter, Cynthia L. Milton of Boca Raton, Fla.; and two sons, Earl S. Milton of Las Vegas and Robert G. Milton of Cohasset, Mass.

George Allan Williamson
George Allan Williamson, 51, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 1, 1949, in St. Albans, Vt. A resident for 38 years, he was a carpenter.
He is survived by one daughter, Mary Madison of O'Neals, Calif.; his mother, Luna Williamson, one brother, Scott E. Williamson, and one sister, Pamela Watts, all of Las Vegas; and four grandsons.
