A trendy New York publication with an upscale audience has debuted with a Las Vegas version of its magazine aimed at tourists.
Vegas File, a spinoff of Manhattan File magazine, plans three seasonal editions this year and six -- one every other month -- next year, said Cristina Greeven, editor-in-chief.
The spring edition is being distributed now, with the publication being given to guests of upscale Las Vegas resorts, restaurants and shops and being distributed to subscribers of Manhattan File. Circulation of each Las Vegas edition is projected at 100,000.
Greeven described Vegas File as "funny, edgy and clever" with articles about Las Vegas personalities, reviews of spas and nightclubs and listings of trendy places to go in the city.
The first edition of the publication had stories on actress Julia Roberts' Las Vegas filming schedule, Mirage illusionists Siegfried & Roy, the city's top 10 wedding chapels and a profile of gaming analyst Jason Ader of Bear Stearns.
Tamara Leon will serve as the executive publisher and local contact of Vegas File. The magazine will be written by free-lance journalists and the Manhattan File staff.
