Eugene Beamon
Eugene Beamon, 90, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 11, 1911, in Springfield, Ala. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Abraham Beamon of El Paso, Texas, and Emery Beamon of Mobile, Ala.; four daughters, Cora P. Beamon of Las Vegas, Magnolia Lewis of Brewton, Ala., and Lillie Hall and Avon Hall, both of San Bernardino, Calif.; one sister, Hattie Tyson of Cleveland; one brother, Harden Pullum of Tallahassee, Fla.; 76 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave., followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Larry J. Hollingsworth Sr.
Larry J. Hollingsworth Sr., 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born April 17, 1934, in Floydada, Texas. A resident for 51 years, he was a retired accountant, a Korean War Air Force veteran and a member of the Elks in Las Vegas.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Brown of Mechanicsville, Ind., and Sherry Hollingsworth of Las Vegas; one son, Larry J. Hollingsworth Jr., and one sister, Elizabeth Bandy, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
David Michael O'Rourke
David Michael O'Rourke, 77, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born July 26, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 21 years, he was a truck driver for 33 years for Rheingold Brewing in Brooklyn, N.Y., and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by two sons, John T. O'Rourke of Las Vegas and David O'Rourke of Griswold, Conn.; two daughters, Ellen V. Nilson of Henderson and Margaret L. O'Rourke of Las Vegas; two brothers, John O'Rourke of Orlando, Fla., and Frank O'Rourke of Melbourne, Fla.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
James Byron Ridley
James Byron Ridley, 72, of Las Vegas died April 16 in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 1, 1928, in Los Angeles. A resident for 14 years, he was a service representative for a bottled water company, a volunteer as a Medicare counselor and a helper in senior organizations.
He was preceded in death by one son, James, three weeks ago.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jacqueline; two daughters, Joy Lynn Farias of California and Jo Ellen Bonse of New York state; one brother, Tom Ridley of Hawthorne; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the LDS chapel at 4201 Stewart Ave. Burial will be private. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Gordon L. Skinner
Gordon L. Skinner, 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 17, 1936, in Santa Barbara, Calif. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired electrician, a Coast Guard veteran and a member of the Confederate Air Force of Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; three daughters, Jean Sylwanowitz of Highland Ranch, Colo., Joan Goldberg of Englewood, Colo., and Maureen Chancey of Las Vegas; one son, Edward Pisarsky of Barstow, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be noon Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Jerry Twomey
Jerry Twomey, 86, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 15, 1914, in Boston. A resident for four years, he was a retired salesman in the field of advertising and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Jay Twomey of Boulder City; one daughter, Susanne Twomey of Oakland Hills, Calif.; and two sisters, Julie Meara of Springfield, Mass., and Marnie Baer of Cape Cod, Mass.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Marcella Wickliffe
Marcella Wickliffe, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 23, 1917, in St. Louis. A resident for 46 years, she was a retired Desert Inn department supervisor.
She is survived by two sons, Bob Wickliffe and Jim Wickliffe, both of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will be 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
