Letter: Medical world has little to offer

Monday, April 23, 2001 | 9:09 a.m.

I am not in favor of natural health being subordinated to or governed by anything that has to do with the medical boards. They are self-serving and biased when it comes to natural remedies, as that does not "pay" as well as having me sick. I know this does not sound very kind, but I am disabled and I know what the medical world wants to offer me.

I will never get well under their stewardship and neither will the natural health practitioners. They give me more relief than the medical profession. If they were controlled by the medical profession, guess what? They'd be lobbied out of legitimate practice.

Medical people want you to take medicine, which makes you sicker and then you need more medicine ... a vicious cycle we must all eventually care about, because we all age -- eventually. Please look into these matters and give them fair reporting space, time and perspective.
