Goldie F. Black

Goldie F. Black, 91, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 20, 1909, in New York City. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired businesswoman.

She is survived by one son, Burt Black of Henderson; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Bernice L. Burt

Bernice L. Burt, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 23, 1910, in Birmingham, Ala. A resident for eight years, she was a retired aircraft assembly line worker.

She is survived by one sister, Christine Giddens of Las Vegas.

Services and burial will be in San Bernardino, Calif. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Lillie Carroll

Lillie Carroll, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. She was born July 28, 1931, in Monroe, La. A resident for 38 years, she was a retired Clark County School District custodian.

She is survived by three sons, Thomas Williams, Larry Williams and Aaron McGhee, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lula Mae Holmes of San Francisco and Cindy Carroll of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Monday in Palm Memorial Park.

Mary Cook

Mary Cook, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday. She was born Dec. 2, 1938, in Chicago. A resident for 14 years, she was a delicatessen clerk.

She is survived by one daughter, Paula Cook of Las Vegas; two brothers, Bob Pahlke of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Frazer Pahlke of Deerfield, Ill.; one sister, Anita Netzel of Arlington Heights; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. service in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Frances Costa

Frances Costa, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 30, 1929, in Reisterstown, Md. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, David Costa of Las Vegas; and one sister, Anna Carter of Reisterstown.

Bearl Edward Crow

Bearl Edward Crow, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Many, La. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired janitor and a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, John Edward, and two daughters, Diane and Connie, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Dolly Tudor of Arlington, Texas; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 9-10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Geraldine Gould

Geraldine Gould, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Hazel Park, Mich. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired travel agency representative.

She is survived by her husband, John E.; one daughter, Karen Smith of Highland Hills, Calif.; three sons, Ron Gould of Hazel Park, John Gould of Mount Clements, Mich., and Kurt Gould of Clarkston, Mich.; one sister, Robin Gerard of Higgins Lake, Mich.; two brothers, Ralph Chism of Higgins Lake and Jim Chism of Mount Clements; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-6 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.

Alma Z. Gorman

Alma Z. Gorman, 80, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 30, 1921, in Oklahoma. A resident for one month, she was a banquet arranger.

She is survived by one son, David Gorman of Henderson; and five grandchildren.

David Edward Harrison

David Edward Harrison, 45, of Las Vegas died April 11 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 11, 1955, in Lincoln, Neb. A lifelong resident, he was a bus driver for Greyhound.

He is survived by one daughter, Chandra Skye Harrison of California; her mother, Jody Harrison, and one brother, Herb Pracejus, both of Las Vegas; and her grandmother, Ruby Sharp of Alexandria, La.

Pearline Heathmon

Pearline Heathmon, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. A homemaker, she was born Dec. 24, 1929, in Tallulah, La.

She is survived by her husband, Abner Sr.; three sons, Lee Heathmon, Curtis Heathmon and Abner Heathmon Jr., five daughters, Bertha Heathmon, Barbara Heathmon, Beatrice Heathmon, Pamela Heathmon and Gina Heathmon, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Odessa, Sadie, Vivian and Donna, all of Illinois; three brothers, Richard Williams, Lonnie Williams and Larry Williams, all of Illinois.

Services will be noon-7 p.m. Friday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Charles S. Howard

Charles S. Howard, 68, of Las Vegas died March 23 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 8, 1933, in West Virginia. A resident for more than 25 years, he was a cook.

He is survived by his friend, Sopheap Soy of Las Vegas.

Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

William M. Kosters

William M. Kosters, 82, of Sandy Valley died Sunday in Sandy Valley. He was born May 26, 1918, in Auburn, N.Y. A resident of Sandy Valley for 15 years and a resident of Southern Nevada for a total of 23 years, he was a retired Navy chief petty officer first class and World War II veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor.

He is survived by two sons, Ted Kosters of Sandy Valley and Charles Stephen Ough of Corona, Calif.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Log Cabin Church, Sandy Valley. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Arthur H. Longo

Arthur H. Longo, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 5, 1923, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for eight years, he was a retired lumber industry foreman, an Army veteran, a member of the Teamsters and Allied Workers Local 996.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn June; three daughters, Leilani Louise Longo, Lana Longo Learnard and Marilyn June Leyson, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Josephine Ponese, Louise Fiorentino and Rose Tumminelli, all of Rochester; and six grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be Friday at the family home. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Sidney Loveless

Sidney Loveless, 81, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 16, 1919, in Petersburg, Ind. A resident for one year, he was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Sheryl Munoz of Henderson; one sister, Wannahlee Shoaf of Petersburg, Ind.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Margaret Mary Marcus

Margaret Mary Marcus, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 31, 1916, in Pennsylvania. A resident for four months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Bob and Jerry; one brother, Dan Hagan; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Casmar 'Charles' Michalik

Casmar "Charles" Michalik, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 23, 1924, Bayonne, N.J. A resident for two years, he was a retired foreman for a publishing company and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline; two sons, Richard Michalik and Randy Michalik, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Ted Michalik of Cherry Hill, N.J., and John Michalik of Fontana, Calif.; two sisters, Stella Kott of Fontana and Jeanne Krupski of New York.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday with a 6 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Hisayo Sami Miller, 51, of Las Vegas died April 12 in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 23, 1949, in Japan. A resident for one year, she was a waitress.

She is survived by one daughter, Michelle Messick of California; one son, Michael Messick of Las Vegas; her mother, Machiko Nagasawa, three sisters, Fujiko Morita, Mayumi Tomokiyo and Tokie Yamamoto, and one brother, Toshiaki Nagasawa, all of Japan.

Roxanne Pickford Monroe

Roxanne Pickford Monroe, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 18, 1942. A resident for 32 years, she was a member of the Arabian Horse Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Christine Monroe and DonnaMarie Monroe, both of Las Vegas; one son, Asa Carmichael, and one brother, Jack Rogers, both of California; and three grandchildren.

John D. Quinn

John D. Quinn, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Yucca Valley, Calif. He was born June 23, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A former Las Vegas resident from 1985 to 1999, he was a cook and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; four daughters, Dawn Quinn of Henderson, Patricia Quinn of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jennifer Quinn and Laura Quinn, both of Las Vegas; one son, Sean Quinn of Las Vegas; two sisters, Louise Quinn of Virginia Beach, Va., and Virginia Quinn of Leesburg, Va.; two brothers, James Quinn of Bloomingdale, N.J., and David Quinn of Coral Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Hugo Raul Reyes, 8, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. A student, he was born April 2, 1993, in Reno.

He is survived by his parents, Raul and Rosa Reyes, and two sisters, Carol Reyes and Nicky Reyes, all of Las Vegas.

Nathaniel Richardson

Nathaniel Richardson, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1938, in Natchez, Miss. A resident for 54 years, he was a licensed air conditioning and heating contractor and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; three sons, Marcus Richardson, Gregory R. Richardson and Kuturrah Richardson, four daughters, Romeeka Richardson, Darlene Lawson, Yvonne Moore and Gwendolyn Burks, and her mother, Theresa Butler Richardson, all of Las Vegas; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Annie B. Shelby, 50, of Nevada died Sunday in Nevada. She was born March 26, 1951, in Jackson, Miss. A resident 47 year resident, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by one son, James Shelby of North Las Vegas; four brothers, William Shelby, John Shelby, Bill Shelby and Morgan Shelby, and one sister, Geraldine Snyder, all of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Leo C. Smith, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Mitchell, S.D. A resident for nine years, he was a retired real estate broker, a World War II Navy veteran and a former member of the Optimists Club.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine A.

She is survived by two daughters, LaDawn Solomon and Bretani Solomon, her mother, Adenia Williams, and one sister, Danita Adams, all of Las Vegas; and six brothers, Argentia Williams of Rialto, Calif., Allen Williams of Seattle, Daniel Williams of Covina, Calif., Christopher Williams of Barstow, Calif., Lloyd Williams of Santa Monica, Calif., and James Williams of Las Vegas.

Norman J. Sugar, 61, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 24, 1939, in Meadville, Pa. A resident for 15 years, he was a bartender at Charlie's Bar, a Navy veteran and a member of the Italian American Club.

He is survived by his significant other, Debra Thompson, one son, Joseph J. Sugar, and one sister, Patricia R. Preus, all of Las Vegas; two daughters, Leslie R. Sugar of Pittsburgh and Melanie J. Sugar of Slippery Rock, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Meliame; four daughters, Sela Unga and Heilala Unga, both of Castro Valley, Calif., and Heleine Unga and Lusia Guzman, both of Las Vegas; five sons, Ofeina Unga of Haula, Hawaii, Sioeli Unga of Tonga, Steve Unga of Denver, Maheuliuli Unga of Aurora, Colo., and Elton Unga of Las Vegas; six brothers, Sitiveni Unga of Mililani, Hawaii, Vaini Unga of Kahuku, Hawaii, Willis Unga and Sione Unga, both of San Mateo, Calif., and Pita Unga and Whitley Unga, both of Laie, Hawaii; and 13 grandchildren.

Jerry Lee Walker Sr., 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. A resident for two years, he was born April 9, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He is survived by one son, Jerry L. Walker Jr.; one daughter, Teresa Lynn Walker; his mother, Frances Pearl Walker; three brothers, Charles, David and Johnnie; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Wilton Wesley Sr.

Wilton Wesley Sr., 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Falcon, Ark. A resident for 10 years, he was retired.

He is survived by two sons, the Rev. Dwight Wesley and Minister Wilton Wesley Jr.; four sisters, Doris Harris, Dorothy Kinchen, Betty L. Porter and Betty Ridley; five brothers, James H. Wesley, the Rev. Jesse L. Wesley Sr., David Wesley, Leebural Wesley and Saul Wesley; and eight grandchildren.
