EcoJam 2001 planned Saturday
The 31st anniversary of Earth Day at EcoJam 2001 will be celebrated 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Silver Bowl Sports Complex, 6800 E. Russell Road.
EcoJam provides an opportunity for the public to learn how to manage resources and to preserve the environment.

Seminar offered for businesses
A free seminar of hazardous waste regulations will be offered to Nevada-based businesses at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Wengert Room of the Nevada Power Co., 6225 W. Sahara Ave.
The seminar will explain the requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, a federal regulation that requires businesses to meet certain compliance standards for hazardous waste management.
This seminar is free to all businesses located within the state of Nevada, but pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, call (775) 784-1717.
Annual congress to gather Saturday
"Building Community Generation to Generation" is the theme of Southern Nevada's third annual Neighborhood Congress 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.
This year the program will include participants 13 to 18 years of age.
Interactive workshops are scheduled on a variety of topics. In addition to workshops offered to adults on "Neighborhood Leadership and Organizing" the youth will have the opportunity to participate in a targeted youth forum to discuss their role in neighborhoods and the impact they can have.

Statewide program for kids scheduled
Nevada hospitals are partnering with state and local immunization authorities, community groups and businesses for a statewide childhood immunization week.
These locations will offer free childhood immunizations:
10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Babies R Us, 2150 N. Rainbow Blvd.; 4-7 p.m. Monday and April 25 at the Boys and Girls Club, 2850 S. Lindell Road; 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and April 26 at Babies R Us, 510 N. Stephanie St., Henderson; 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 28 at the Fantastic Indoor Swap Meet, 1717 S. Decatur Blvd.; noon-4 p.m. April 28 at University Medical Center Enterprise Quick Care, 1700 Wheeler Peak Drive; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 28 at the Harmon Medical Clinic, 150 E. Harmon Ave.
