Man killed; girl injured

Two shootings on the same block in North Las Vegas Sunday left a man dead and a 6-year-old injured.
North Las Vegas Police found Erick Bass, 28, shot in the head and slumped over the steering wheel of a Cadillac in a parking lot at 2504 West St., near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue, about 12:30 a.m.
Residents in the area reported hearing a gunshot, but didn't see anyone.
About 10:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a 6-year-old being shot at 2508 West St.
The girl was treated and released from University Medical Center.
Police said a man and a woman knocked on the door of the girl's apartment. The girl started to open the door, when a gun was fired into the door. The shot hit the girl in the chin.
Police said the woman forced the door open, and the two entered the apartment, fought with the occupants, then fled.
Police arrested Pamela Neal, 31, of North Las Vegas, and charged her with attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon and burglary. Police are still seeking a black man, in his early 20s, 5-foot-7 and wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information in either case is asked to contact the police at 633-9111 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
