Madonna to bring act to Las Vegas

The Material Girl is coming to Las Vegas.
Embarking on her first world tour since 1993, Madonna will perform Sept. 1 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena as part of her Drowned World Tour. It is the first Madonna tour to make a stop in Las Vegas.
Dalicia Ramey, MGM entertainment public relations manager, and Johanna Farrell, Warner Bros. Records public relations representative, both confirmed the Las Vegas concert this morning, responding to news releases announcing the tour.
Both representatives said that ticket prices and the date of sales have yet to be determined.
The tour, which begins June 5 in Cologne, Germany, and ends Sept. 9 in Los Angeles, will feature songs throughout the singer's career and "promises to be an ecstatic celebration of artistry and technology."
For Madonna, 42, the tour comes at a crossroads in her life.
Her latest album, "Music," is a throwback musically to the days of disco.
But despite strong record sales worldwide and generally favorable reviews, Madonna drew more attention for her recent marriage to British director Guy Ritchie, 32, and to giving birth to her second child -- the couple's first -- in August.
Still, motherhood has not necessarily tamed Madonna.
Her most recent video,"What it Feels Like For a Girl," which was directed by Ritchie, was banned from VH1 and limited to one airing on MTV for what the networks deemed excessive violence.
