Salt Lake City-based Weider Nutrition International Inc. said today it took a charge of $650,000 when it closed its Las Vegas beverage supplement-making plant in August.
Weider, which makes and sells branded and private label vitamins, nutritional supplements and sports nutrition products, terminated 10 local workers when it closed its Science Foods plant at 3905 West Diablo Drive.
Weider said it closed the local plant because a plant in North Carolina could meet company needs.
