Contract to end long dispute between county, investigators

A yearlong contract dispute between Clark County district attorney investigators and administrators could come to a close Tuesday if Clark County commissioners approve a contract agreed upon by the 27-member union.
The new contract is expected to bring investigators' salaries in line with Metro Police detectives, which is what the District Attorney's Investigators Association sought.
Investigators, who assist the district attorney with criminal prosecutions, are expected to receive a contract close to their request, which was for an 18 percent pay hike and subsequent 3.5 percent pay increase.
The district attorney investigators' pay now tops out at about $55,000.
The agreement is expected to end negotiations that sometimes became contentious, with investigators frustrated that the county was willing to spend double their requested pay raise to fight the association.
