CHRISTINA MONTEIRO
High School: Bonanza ('97)
Where she is now: Arizona
Class: Senior
Sport: Golf
Currently: A key member of the Wildcats' 2000 NCAA championship squad, Monteiro continues to be a solid performer, taking an 18-hole stroke average of 80.82 into the upcoming Pac-10 Championships, April 23-25 in Tempe, Ariz. Monteiro has one top-20 finish under her belt this year, but if last season was any indication, her best days should be ahead. Last year, she placed sixth -- tops on her team -- at the NCAA West Regionals and contributed a low round of 73 at the 'Cats' team win at the three-day NCAA Championships.
Looking back: A four-year letter-winner and three-time captain for the Bengals, Monteiro was a consistent force throughout her prep career, earning all-Sunrise, all-state and team MVP honors. Her sister, Autumn, is a freshman on the Hawaii golf team.
