Robert Everett Alton

Robert Everett Action, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Iron River, Mich. A resident for eight years, he worked in sales, was a Navy veteran and a member of the Toastmasters Club.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; four daughters, Avalon Braun of Eugene, Ore., Nancy Lazenby of Orlando Fla., Laura Alton and Kristen Gallaway, both of Las Vegas; four sons, Thomas Alton of Tigard, Ore., Aaron Alton of Seale, Ala., and Robert Alton and Steven Alton, both of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Religious Science Church of Las Vegas, 5317 Smoke Ranch Road. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangments.

Gloria I. Boucher

Gloria I. Boucher, 69, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Miami. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, William; one daughter, Linda Wilson of Belleview, Fla.; two sons, Glen Thompson of Las Vegas and William C. Boucher Jr., of Ocala, Fla.; one sister, Doreen Wetherbee of Dale City, Va.; one brother, Charles Watkins of Ash, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Geraldine M. Burton

Geraldine M. Burton, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 21, 1918, in Hobark, Okla. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard R.; and one brother, James Epling of Yellville, Ark.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Nettie Diggs

Nettie Diggs, 87, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born July 20, 1913, in Duryea, Pa. A resident for 51 years, she was a retired waitress at the Showboat hotel.

She is survived by many cousins.

A Mass was scheduled at 9:30 a.m. today in St. Bridget's Catholic Church, followed by burial in Memory Gardens. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Marvin C. Ennis

Marvin C. Ennis, 80, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born April 1, 1921, in Albany, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired supervisor for a paper mill and a former member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; two daughters, Carol Moasser of Maryland and Betty Van Ambergh of Las Vegas; one stepson, Dick York, and one stepdaughter, Ann Smith, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Earl Ennis, Ray Ennis and Sid Ennis, and two sisters, Jeannette and Lillian, all of Albany; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

John Fogu

John Fogu, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Bayonne, N.J. A resident for seven years, he was the owner of a trucking company and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Lannie Dietz of Monroe Township, N.J.; three sons, Salvatore Fogu, Jay Fogu and Chris Fogu, all of Chicago; one sister, Marie Maynard of Florida; two stepdaughters, Carol Yarborough of Jacksonville, Fla., and Roxann Meyers of Minnesota; three stepsons, Charles Godwin, Alton Godwin and Richard Godwin, all of Jacksonville; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Anthony Frisina

Anthony Frisina, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 7, 1911, in Italy. He was a grocery store owner.

He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Bellomo of Las Vegas.

Robert 'Harp' Harpling

Robert "Harp" Harpling, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired vice president in the gaming industry who had worked for Bally's Gaming for 53 years and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dolores; one daughter, Dawn Harpling of Streamwood, Ill.; one son, Brian Harpling of Las Vegas; one sister, Jeannette Whipple of Chicago; two brothers, Clarence Harpling of Wisconsin Dells, Wis., and Donald Harpling of Niles, Ill.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 1:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Private burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Gale Tenbroek Harszy

Gale Tenbroek Harszy, 74, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 3, 1927, in St. Louis. A resident for 47 years, she was a retired school secretary and a member of the Republican Women's Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; one daughter, Freda Harszy of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

John 'Gene' Hawley

John "Gene" Hawley, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 29, 1911, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. A resident for 20 years, he was an entrepreneur in the retail sales industry.

He is survived by one daughter, Carole Kirk of Downey, Calif.; one sister, Hazel Birdzell of Santa Ana, Calif.; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

A private service will be held. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Robert Edward Hope Jr.

Robert Edward Hope Jr., 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Honolulu. A resident for nine months, he was a retired firefighter for the San Francisco Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Lurline C.; two sons, Robert D. Hope and Kam A. Hope, both of Fremont, Calif.; one daughter, Valerie Ruiz, and three sisters, Joy Barnhart, Jean Duponte and June Yamamoto, all of Honolulu; two brothers, Jack M. Hope of Las Vegas and William Hope of Honolulu; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Carolina Ignagni

Carolina Ignagni, 91, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born June 22, 1909, in Mount Vernon, N.Y. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; one daughter, Teresa Ignagni of Henderson; one son, Frank Ignagni Jr., of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Pat Mortillaro of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., and 8:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. graveside services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, Eastern.

Irene Jackrel

Irene Jackrel, 93, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born March 16, 1908, in New York City. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Arnold Rich of Las Vegas; three sisters, Jeanette of Los Angeles and Rene and Sally, both of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Lawrence Kotek

Lawrence Kotek, 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Detroit. A resident for 17 years, he was a senior engineer for the Department of Energy and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Claudia; two daughters, Catherine Rooney and Christine Kotek, and two sons, Michael Kotek and John Kotek, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Sophia Kotek, and one sister, Tina Pietrykowski, both of Detroit; one brother, Donald Kotek of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Helen E. Lambert

Helen E. Lambert, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1916, in Pennsylvania. A resident for four years, she was a retired phone operator for AT&T.

She is survived by one niece, Mary K.

Joseph H. Lounder

Joseph H. Lounder, 51, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born June 11, 1949, in Keene, N.H. A resident for 12 years, he was a city government inspector, Desert Storm War Air Force veteran and a lifetime member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 10047.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; two daughters, Amy Miller and Sarah Gallegos, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Beverly Smith of Hyanis, Mass.; two sisters, Debbie Chambers of Dennis, Mass., and Virginia Jones of Plymouth, Mass.; two brothers, Tommy Smith of Lisbon Falls, Maine, and Ray Jack of Athol, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Deborah Lorraine McCaleb

Deborah Lorraine McCaleb, 40, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 5, 1960, in San Diego. A resident for three years, she was a customer service worker for a pharmaceutical company.

She is survived by her husband, William; her parents, Donna and Roy Bowen, and two brothers Roy Bowen and Richard, all of Gig Harbor, Wash.; and five sisters, Juanita Mitchell of West Des Moines, Iowa, Joyce Foss of Vaughn, Wash., Jill Long of Ft. Riley, Kan., Amanda Bowen of Gig Harbor and Frances Faust of Urbandale, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

George Jester Merritt Jr.

George Jester Merritt Jr., 61, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 6, 1940, in Wilmington, Del. A resident for 26 years, he was a senior computer programmer analyst and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Yuki; one daughter, Samantha Walker of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Lisa D. Miller

Lisa D. Miller, 37, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 31, 1963, in Waupun, Wis. A resident for 37 years, she was a line worker for a handicapped service company and an active bowler.

She is survived by her parents, Roberta Miller of Las Vegas and Donald Miller of Salmon, Idaho.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Daniel Milnor

Daniel Milnor, 57, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. He was born April 9, 1943. A resident for several years, he was a deacon for the Arizona Diocese of the Catholic Church and an active worker among the Las Vegas homeless and St. Vincent shelter.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Joseph Palumbo

Joseph Palumbo, 79, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born March 15, 1922, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired assembler for a security company and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by three sisters, Mary Jane Russo of Rochester and Rose Gala and Madeline Incardona, both of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; and one brother, Louis P. Palumbo of Hobe Sound, Fla.

Services will be private. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jerry Dean Qualls

Jerry Dean Qualls, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 13, 1938, in Missouri. A resident for 13 years, he was a carpenter in the remodeling industry.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie; one son, Gregory Dean Qualls; two daughters, Tammy Schible and Kathy McBride; his father, Virgil Ira; his stepmother, Hannah; one brother, Jeff Qualls; one sister, Renee; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. services Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Elwayn Lavon Reber

Elwayn Lavon Reber, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Nevada. He was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Burke, S.D. A resident for five years, he was self-employed in the auto parts industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Annette; one son, Wayne Reber, one daughter, Anne Shelton, and two brothers, Jason Reber and Gary Reber, all of Colorado; and four grandsons.

Brian D. Reilly

Brian D. Reilly, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 43 years, he worked as a waiter at Caesars Palace for 29 years.

He is survived by one sister, Maryann Glassmyer, and one brother, George C. Reilly Jr, both of Las Vegas.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will be noon Monday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

William Rohrberg

William Rohrberg, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 21, 1932, in New York. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; three sons, Steve, Patrick and Gregory; three brothers, George, Louis and John; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Dec. 21 in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive.

James Clementine Shelby

James Clementine Shelby, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 21, 1936, in California. A resident for 20 years, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service, was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, James of Henderson and Mark Shelby; two daughters, Anne Hoover and Catherine Shelby; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Opal Lee Slaughter

Opal Lee Slaughter, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 6, 1915, in Texas. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, John Slaughter, and one son, Don Slaughter.

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Grimes of Texas and Rachel Williams of Las Vegas; two sons, John Lee Slaughter and Bill Slaughter, both of Texas; two brothers, Alvae Lum of Texas and John Lum of California; and one sister, Fay Gilmore of California.

No local services scheduled. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
