Letter: Perpetuating school violence

A March 28 front-page story in the Sun noted that the minimum age for the death penalty might be raised from 16 to 18.
The reason, according to experts, is that "most teens cannot reason that their actions can lead to murder." So I guess that means that the kid who brings automatic weapons to school and starts a random or directed annihilation of those in his path can't comprehend the results of bullets piercing people's brains, hearts and bodies? Give me a break. This is just another lame excuse to shift the responsibility and blame of one's actions to others.
There is a movie in theaters called "15 Minutes." Two killers devise a plot, based on America's misuse of the law and the shifting of blame, to use the insanity plea as a smoke screen for their deadly deeds.
It was a tough movie to watch. In a short time, though, we won't have to go to the theater to see this drama, it will be going on in our neighborhoods, courtesy of the "experts."
