Jackson’s 5 TDs pace Sundevils

Steven Jackson rushed 31 times for 315 yards and five touchdowns and Eldorado scored 28 unanswered points to defeat visiting Las Vegas High 46-29 in both teams' Northeast Division opener Thursday night.
The Sundevils (4-1) led 18-15 after one quarter, then broke the game open with four straight touchdowns -- the last two courtesy of Jackson. The senior upped his season total to an area-best 1,022 yards in five games.
Antione White rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns for the Wildcats (1-4), who lost their third straight game. No. 5 Eldorado has won four in a row since dropping its season opener.
In other Week 5 action:
Desert Pines 34, Rancho 0: Cornell Johnson ran for four touchdowns to help the No. 10 Jaguars (5-0) remain unbeaten. The visiting Rams (1-4) played without injured quarterback D.J. Porter for the second straight week.
Silverado 26, Valley 23: The host Skyhawks (3-2) got fourth-quarter touchdowns from fullbacks Marvin Reddick and Levi Neshkoff, rallying from a 13-point second-half deficit to end the Vikings' three-game winning streak. James Sims scored a pair of touchdowns for No. 9 Valley (3-2).
Palo Verde 28, Western 14: Ryan Worthen scored three touchdowns, ran for 77 yards and converted four extra-point attempts to lead the host Panthers (3-2) over the Warriors (2-3). Dayton Ponder added a touchdown for Palo Verde.
Bishop Gorman 49, Durango 33: Dyante Perkins rushed for 230 yards and three touchdowns and Jason Rogers reeled off another 124 yards and scored four touchdowns for the Gaels (3-2). The visiting Trailblazers (1-4) have now lost four straight.
Basic 28, Green Valley 16: The host Wolves (1-4) won the battle of Henderson, thanks to 21 unanswered third-quarter points. Mark Rose threw for a touchdown and ran for another, and Brandon Parcel scored twice for Basic.
Foothill 27, Chaparral 24: Alex Devaughn scored on a quarterback keeper with 24 seconds remaining to lift the Falcons (3-1) to the upset road win. The No. 4 Cowboys (4-1) suffered their first loss of the year.
Centennial 24, Mojave 6: The Bulldogs (1-4) broke into the victory column behind Patrick Gray, who racked up 174 yards and three touchdowns. The Rattlers (1-4) got a 90-yard kickoff return from Bryn Davis.
Clark 16, Bonanza 14: Jacque Williams rushed for 197 yards and scored on a 54-yard run with six minutes remaining to put the visiting Chargers (2-3) on top for good. Jairo Palma connected on a 50-yard field goal for Clark.
