An attorney for murder suspect Margaret Rudin is seeking public money to pay investigative costs associated with her defense.
District Judge Joseph Bonaventure will consider the request in court on Oct. 5. Rudin's trial is set for Oct. 30.
Rudin, 56, is charged with murder in the December 1994 death of her millionaire husband, 64-year-old Ron Rudin. The charred remains of the real estate magnate were found Jan. 21, 1995, in a ravine near Lake Mohave. He had been shot in the head.
Margaret Rudin was arrested in November at a Massachusetts apartment she shared with a retired firefighter.
She had been a fugitive since she was indicted in April 1997 on murder and other charges.
