Football: Wolves defeated in Utah

Monday, Sept. 25, 2000 | 11:39 a.m.

The semi-pro Las Vegas Wolves football team saw its 2000 record dip to 7-2 with a 55-14 loss to the Utah All-Stars Saturday night in South Ogden, Utah.

"We only took 26 guys (of 55 on the roster)," lamented Wolves GM and linebacker Edwin Rose. "We hung with them pretty good until the fatigue got to us in the second half."

Only two defensive starters and four offensive starters made the trip for the Wolves, who play Saturday at Bakersfield, Calif., and who have seven games remaining this season. Three of those seven games will be played at Mojave High School in North Las Vegas: Oct. 15, 3 p.m., vs. Bakersfield; Nov. 5, 1 p.m., vs. Antalope Valley; and Nov. 12, 1 p.m., vs. Phoenix.
