Caesars executive sues
Monday, Sept. 25, 2000 | 11:16 a.m.
A former executive of Caesars World Inc. sued the company and its owner Park Place Entertainment Corp. of Las Vegas, alleging they breached a contract to provide favorable benefits as compensation for giving up another severance plan.
Park Place, which was spun off in 1998 from Hilton Hotels Corp., completed its acquisition of Caesars World on Dec. 29, 1999, from Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
Kathryn Moore, who said she was hired by Caesars as senior vice president of human resources in 1997, seeks an order to force the defendants to honor a Starwood contract given to encourage Caesars executives to stay and to give up an ITT Corp. corporate senior executive severance pay plan. Starwood bought ITT in 1998.
The suit alleges that with the exception of Moore, six other high-level executives at Caesars received the improved benefits.
Park Place declined comment on the lawsuit.
