A woman accused of being the getaway driver in the robbery of a Mexican restaurant that ended in the shooting of a Metro Police officer will remain jailed on $200,000 bail.
District Judge Mark Gibbons denied a defense motion to lower Tamika Beavers' bail Thursday morning.
Beavers is accused along with Markus Weatherspoon and Darnell Harris of being involved in the June 14 robbery of the Macayo Vegas restaurant on Charleston Boulevard.
Prosecutors allege that as the robbers were running from the restaurant, they encountered Officer Peter Rossi, 26. One of them fired two shots at Rossi and one of the bullets struck Rossi in the face, causing him to lose the sight in one of his eyes.
Beavers, Harris and Weatherspoon all face burglary, kidnapping and attempted murder charges.
