Judy Arrington

Judy Arrington, 41, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born March 14, 1959, in Homestead, Fla. A resident for 32 years, she was a hotel pantry worker.

She is survived by one son, Daniel; her mother and stepfather, Edith and Frank Williams, and one brother, Don Arrington, all of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Edgar Adalberto Artiga

Edgar Adalberto Artiga, 28, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 9, 1972, in El Salvador. A resident for 23 years, he was a dealer at Texas Station.

He is survived by his parents, Clemente and Maria Artiga, and one brother, Fredy E. Artiga, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

John P. Cabral

John P. Cabral, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born March 18, 1923, in New Bedford, Mass. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired meat cutter and World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, M. Laura; one daughter, Laurie Briare, and one son, David Cabral, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 5190 S. Valley View Blvd., Suite 101, Las Vegas, NV 89118.

Myron John Chuchman

Myron John Chuchman, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 30, 1932, in Amsterdam, N.Y. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired postal service employee and a retired Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Elena Alden, and one son, Gregg Chuchman, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Julie Chuchman of Henderson and Dawn Chuchman of Las Vegas; and one sister, Vera Siekowksi of Hagaman, N.Y.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Paula Eaker

Paula Eaker, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 5, 1927, in New Jersey. A resident for more than five years, she was a homemaker.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in New Jersey. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Amy Nicole Ellison

Amy Nicole Ellison, 23, of Las Vegas died Sept. 16 in Phoenix. She was born June 6, 1977, in Mobile, Ala. A resident for more than five years, she was an employee at NOS Communications.

She is survived by her husband, Shawn; two sons, Quintin Devonte Ellison and Devon Thomas Ellison, both of Las Vegas; her father, Calvin Guy of Montgomery, Ala.; her mother and stepfather, Dawnie and Greg Johnson of Wellton, Ariz.; and her grandfather, Dale Erwin Halsey of Mustang, Okla.

No local services are scheduled. Wyman Crematory, Mesa, Ariz., is handling arrangements.

Robert C. Gambuzza

Robert C. Gambuzza, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 7, 1942, in New York. A resident for more than one year, he was a security officer.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Farmingdale, N.Y. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Sandra Hanson

Sandra Hanson, 47, of Pahrump died Monday in Pahrump. A resident for four years, she was born Jan. 16, 1953, in Minnesota.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; two sons, Richard Hanson of Pahrump and Beau James Hanson of Las Vegas; her father, Earl Sternberg of Pahrump; and one brother, Gene Nelson of Georgia.

Services were scheduled at 1:30 p.m. today in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd., followed by burial in Chief Tecopa Cemetery.

Rose Neuman Holm

Rose Neuman Holm, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born June 6, 1915, in Utah. A resident for 27 years, she was a nurse's assistant in a state mental hospital in Utah.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald G. Holm and James R. Holm; and two grandchildren.

Kevin M. Maloney

Kevin M. Maloney, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Modena, Utah. A resident for 15 years, he was a bulldozer operator and a Marine Corps veteran.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Joseph A. Matthews Jr.

Joseph A. Matthews Jr., 75, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 14, 1925, in York, Pa. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired co-owner and operator of Matthews Stables in York and Hunterstown, Pa., from 1945 to 1972, a World War II Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post 0543 in Red Lion, Pa., and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7045 in Hellam, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Bankert Matthews; two sons, J. Arthur Matthews III and Jay Andrew Matthews, both of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Gertrude S. Merriman

Gertrude S. Merriman, 91, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born July 4, 1909, in the Netherlands. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Henderson Senior Center.

She is survived by one son, Samuel A. Merriman of Henderson; one brother, John Stevenhagen of Gold Bend, Ore.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Pittsburgh. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Roy Dell Miller

Roy Dell Miller, 64, of Boulder City died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1936, in Clinton, Ark. A resident for nine years, he was a retired financial officer for a labor union and a veteran of the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife of 43 1/2 years, Darlene; three daughters, Cynthia Ann Miller of Boulder City and Loreen Sue Murphy and Catherine Elizabeth Miller, both of Las Vegas; three sons, Russell Wayne Miller of Santa Ana, Calif., Gregory Scott Miller of Riverside, Calif., and Brian Keith Miller of San Diego; two sisters, Maxine Miller of Redlands, Calif., and Bonnie Duncan of Bullhead City, Ariz.; one brother, Dale Cleo Miller of Alhambra, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to 2 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

The family suggests donations to the National Wildlife Federation, 8925 Leesburg, Pike Vienna, VA 22184.

Ellen Grace Norris

Ellen Grace Norris, 65, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 21, 1935, in Morton, Miss. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by her husband, Elgin P.; one daughter, Marie Norris, and two sons, William Earl Norris and Barry Norris, all of Las Vegas; six sisters, Mary McGee and Margie Ratliff, both of Morton, Elizabeth Lawrence of Lakeside, Ariz., Queen Paige and Bettye Burgess, both of Jackson, Miss., and Shirley Norris of Forest, Miss.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Power House, 1216 Adams St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Dorothy Paynter

Dorothy Paynter, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 21, 1915, in Connecticut. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Salt Lake City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Otomara Runiks

Otomara Runiks, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 4, 1913, in Latvia. A resident for four years, he was a self-employed dry cleaner.

He is survived by two sons, John Runiks and Avairs Runiks; one daughter, Vija Lipins; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to noon services Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Wes See

Wes See, 53, of Henderson died Monday in Utah. He was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Garden City, Kan. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired Metro Police officer for 20 years and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Michael See and Jason See, both of Las Vegas; three stepsons; two stepdaughters; his mother, Phyllis See of Mountain View, Calif.; his father, Harold See Sr. of Woodside, Calif.; one sister, D-Ann Darling of Palo Alto, Calif.; one brother, Terry See of Fort Myers, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 2 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Beverly Simerl

Beverly Simerl, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 18, 1930, in Antioch, Calif. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker and active in the parent-teacher fellowship at the Calvary Church Christian School.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; one son, Les Simerl of Reno; two daughters, Billie Merriman of Las Vegas and Judy Steslow of Blue Diamond; one sister, Eileen Davis of Antioch; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

George H. Stratton

George H. Stratton, 44, of Las Vegas died Sunday in San Diego. He was born Sept. 28, 1955, in Hawthorne, Calif. A resident for six years, he was a team manager of USA Racing.

He is survived by his wife, Coralia N.; one son, Christopher; and one daughter, Natalia.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. A reception will follow at the home of Kim and Debbie Gregory, 6242 W. Coley Ave.

Paul Vitalis, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1937, in Hungary. A resident for six years, he was a retired aircraft machinist.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann; two sons, Harry J. Bennallack of Las Vegas and Ron Nadvornick of Long Beach, Calif.; one daughter, Doreen Coddington of Las Vegas; one sister, Magdolna Penzel of Dorog, Hungary; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Thomas R. Washington Sr.

Thomas R. Washington Sr., 44, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 29, 1956, in Louisiana. A resident for 30 years, he was a hotel chef.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Ray Washington Jr. and Tyrone Jacquez Washington, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Regina Davis-Brown of Las Vegas and Tina Ann Williams of Atlanta; four brothers, Bernard Washington and Richard Washington, both of Louisiana, and Milton Washington and Willie Washington, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Linda Washington of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1100 N. D St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Donald J. Woodworth

Donald J. Woodworth, 80, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. He was born July 4, 1920, in Modena, Utah. A resident for many years, he was a deputy brand inspector on a ranch.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllys; two sons, Charles Woodworth of Pahrump and Harold Keaton of Pioche; four daughters, Thelma Somers and Norma Boylan, both of Pioche, Venice Lamoreaux of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Bonnie Keele of Yerington; two brothers, Norman Woodworth of Yerington and Wayne Lister of Pioche; one sister, Zena Heath of Winnemucca; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Woodworth Cemetery, Eagle Valley. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
