Letter: Republicans fight for rich

But then maybe "getting" Clinton is that much more important to these cretins than winning the presidency.
I am still waiting for one of the wackos to tell me why, when the government pays for a citizen's health care it is "big government socialism," but when the government gives citizens money to buy a health insurance policy, which (hopefully) will pay their health care, that is "capitalism in action."
It seems to me the only difference depends on which side of the political fence you are on, except that the insurance option merely puts a middleman in the mix. If one is socialism, so is the other, as far as I am concerned. Of course, I am referring to Bush's plan to dismantle Medicare, under the guise of saving it.
Another dichotomy (a glaring one) is Republicans continually preaching about the virtues of hard work, personal responsibility, initiative and against expecting something for nothing (as in welfare, Social Security, Medicare, etc.)
At the same time they fight tooth and nail to see that kids of the rich are exempted from all of these things by making sure they get tax-free inheritances to squander on an idle lifetime. Go figure.
I am not talking about family farms and small businesses, but Bill Gates' and Ross Perot's kids, for example.
