British Auto Club will host picnic
The British Auto Club's annual membership drive picnic will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for members and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for guests Sunday at Paradise Park, one block north of Tropicana Avenue and McLeod Drive.
The club will furnish free hot dogs, hamburgers and soft drinks. Members can call 566-8378 to sign up to bring a side dish.
Benefit scheduled for Junior ROTC
The Las Vegas Council of the Navy League will hold a raffle and silent auction Tuesday to raise money for Junior ROTC programs at Clark, Chaparral, Eldorado and Basic high schools, as well as the Van Voorhis Squadron of the Navy Sea Cadet Corps.
The event, to be held at the Elks Lodge, 4100 W. Charleston Blvd., will begin with no-host cocktails at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $16 per person. For reservations, call 360-4028.
Dedication planned at Desert Breeze
Clark County is hosting the grand opening of the Desert Breeze Park Detention Basin soccer fields at 10 a.m. Saturday on the north side of Spring Mountain Road across from the center, 8245 Spring Mountain Road.
Commissioner Erin Kenny will host the dedication ceremony, which will be followed by a brunch. For more information, call 455-8200.
Astrology workshop to explain the signs
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host an astrology workshop 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Lorna J. Kesterson Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St.
Topics will include astrological signs, planets, houses and the significance of astrology. For more information, call 565-2121.
Learn how to set reachable goals
A free financial planning workshop is being offered 7-8 p.m. Monday at the Lorna J. Kesterson Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St.
The workshop is designed to give participants tools needed to become debt free and set reachable financial goals. Registration is recommended. Call 457-4299.
Wellspring Church to host annual event
Wellspring Church of All Nations is holding its fifth annual Festival of Fellowship at 3 p.m. Sunday at 1401 N. Decatur Blvd., Suite 14.
