State line gas station first choice for fill-ups

Gold Ranch Casino in Verdi outsold all other ARCO gasoline outlets in the country in July. General Manager Rob Medeiros has a plaque in his office to prove it.
Medeiros said it's the first time the station has reached the top spot after cracking the Top 10, then the Top 5.
Gold Ranch pumped 693,000 gallons in July and 729,000 in August, for which rankings have not been released.
Medeiros said a typical U.S. station averages about 88,000 gallons a month.
Medeiros credits Gold Ranch's soaring fuel sales to a number of factors, starting with its location on the state line.
ARCO's lower prices enter in. And the fact Nevadans can buy California lottery tickets in a spur of the station's casino that juts across the state line doesn't hurt either.
