Reno police lieutenant found guilty of misconduct

An internal affairs investigation found that Lt. Ken Bunker acted unprofessionally by being rude to Doyle and using foul language during a conversation with her.
Police Chief Jerry Hoover isn't saying how he will discipline Bunker.
The investigation determined that allegations against Deputy Chief Jim Johns and Lt. Bill Bowen are unfounded.
Hoover said Bunker has known Doyle for many years and thought he was talking to her in a personal capacity when he used profanity with her.
Doyle complained that Johns lied to her about the location of a supervisor she wanted to attend a meeting about rehabilitating the Friendship Lane neighborhood.
Hoover said Johns might have been able to guess, but did not know where the sergeant was.
She also alleged that Bowen was on duty when he tried to obtain her endorsement for his bid to run for sheriff in 2002.
Internal affairs investigators scrutinized the department's policies regarding city officials running for office and could not find any policy broken by Bowen, Hoover said.
"Common sense says he probably should not have done that," the chief added.
