A 28-year-old man died Tuesday from injures sustained in a one-car accident over the weekend.
Edgar Artiga-Abrego suffered the fatal injuries when he lost control of his car near Maryland Parkway and Franklin Avenue Sunday, crashed into a tree in Circle Park and rolled, Metro Police said.
Artiga-Abrego was taken to University Medical Center. Witnesses told investigators Artiga-Abrego was driving at a high rate of speed in the area before the accident. Another witness told police the driver had been involved in a hit-and-run accident at Maryland Parkway and Karen Avenue a few minutes before the accident.
Artiga-Abrego was not wearing a seat belt.
