Silver Springs man gets life for molestation

Washoe District Judge James Hardesty imposed the sentence Friday on David Clyde Thompson, who allegedly had contact with the girl in 1998 and 1999. He was arrested in February.
In addition, he was sentenced to a special sentence of lifetime supervision should he ever by released from prison, Deputy District Attorney Cindi-Elaine Heron said.
"Mr. Thompson was a very real threat to any child he was to come in contact with," she said.
Sentencing him to life was the only way to ensure he does not victimize other children, she argued at sentencing.
Thompson had a 1988 conviction for statutory sexual seduction involving the molestation of a 13-year-old boy, Heron said.
