Letter: Senior receives act of kindness
Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000 | 6:31 a.m.
Recently I went shopping at Albertson's, located on Maryland Parkway and Sahara.
I took a bus to the store and planned on calling a cab to take me home with my groceries. While I was checking out, a really nice lady called a cab for me. But after waiting for the cab for an hour, Miss Leonard, this courteous clerk, called for me again.
Again I waited without a cab in sight. Boulevard mall is close by, and usually there are cabs there, but still I couldn't get a cab. The manager of the store, Melvin, came to me and told me he would take me home, which he did. He even carried my groceries up the stairs for me to my apartment.
I am planning on writing to his supervisor and commend both these employees for their kindness. It is nice to know that kindness and compassion are still there for another human being.
