Mary Alhanati, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 11, 1909, in Yugoslavia. A resident for seven months, she was a licensed practical nurse.
She is survived by one daughter, Joan Trofino of Las Vegas.
Services were scheduled at noon today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, followed by entombment in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Gloria Berger
Gloria Berger, 72, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born June 26, 1928, in Philadelphia. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley; one daughter, Shelley A. Siri of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., handled arrangements.

Eloise Brand
Eloise Brand, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born June 14, 1920, in Meridian, Miss. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired bank teller.
She is survived by one son, Torris M. Brand Jr. of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Ruth R. Cordt
Ruth R. Cordt, 60, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 8, 1940, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for five years, she was a clerical worker for an insurance firm.
She is survived by her husband, Norman; and two brothers, Larry Ryckman of Franklinville, N.Y., and Durland Ryckman of Orlando, Fla.
Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to 2 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Mary Coulter, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1923, in Ridgeway, Pa. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired hotel front desk cashier and a member of Catholic Daughters.
She is survived by one daughter, Dolly Coulter-Guzman of Las Vegas; two brothers, Patrick Scarfo of Las Vegas and Alex Scarfo of Williamsport, Pa.; and three sisters, Charlotte Catalina of Las Vegas, Catherine Zameroski of Northeast, Pa., and Emily Kalinoski of Ridgeway.
A rosary will be 10:30 a.m. Monday with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Graveside services will be private. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Frank E. Crisman, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 12, 1918, in Illinois. A resident for nine years, he was a retired office equipment technician.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia; one daughter, Linda Joiner of LaHabra, Calif.; one sister, Margaret Callison of Farmer City, Ill.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Patricia J. Daly, 48, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 17, 1952, in Los Angeles. A resident for one year, she was an assistant production manager.
She is survived by one nephew, Robert Allen of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Gabriela DeLaCruz, 8 months, died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 24, 2000, in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her parents, Jose and Cesaria DeLaCruz of Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Jesus DeLaCruz, Maria Del Refugio Montoya, Juan Guzman Macias and Cesaria Valdez Chavez, all of Mexico.

James T. Hendricks Jr.
James T. Hendricks Jr., 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1912, in Chattanooga, Tenn. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired aeronautical engineer and a member of Senior Dimensions volunteers.
He is survived by one daughter, Joy Klopfer of Ridgefield, Conn.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Phillip K. Karr, 54, of Las Vegas died Aug. 24 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 14, 1946, in Michigan. A resident for eight years, he was a crusher for underground utilities and an Army veteran.

Rizal Sterling Lomo, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 14, 1923, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 10 years, he was a program analyst for the federal government and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by two sisters, Cecila C. Lomo and Paula B. Lomo, both of Colorado; three nephews, one niece, two grandnephews and one grandniece.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Monday in Christ Episcopal Church, 2100 S. Maryland Parkway. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private arrangements.
Milton Maliniak
Milton Maliniak, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born May 5, 1927, in New York. A resident for eight years, he was a printing company owner and Navy veteran.
He is survived by his companion, Rhoda Horland of Las Vegas; two sons, Michael Maliniak of North Hollywood, Calif., and Mark Maliniak of Whitefish, Mont.; one daughter, Melissa Cherry of Ojai, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Services and burial will be in California. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Donald A. McKenzie
Donald A. McKenzie, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born June 16, 19390, in Seattle. A resident for nine years, he was a taxicab driver.
He is survived by his mother, Martha McKenzie of Seattle; and one brother, William McKenzie of Las Vegas.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be private.
Robert J. Minarik Jr.
Robert J. Minarik Jr., 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Independence, Ohio. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired electrician, a World War II Navy veteran, past member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of Archeology of Nevada, Boy Scout leader, Cub master and Explorer leader.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia J.; four daughters, Rosanne Nooner, Theresa Ann Alexander and Patricia Ann Edwards, all of Las Vegas, and Julia Ann Nelson of Champaign, Ill.; one son, Robert J. Minarik III of Las Vegas; three sisters, Gene Bernhardt of Berea, Ohio, Rita Mathes of Parma, Ohio, and Barbara Orvec of Independence, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Jack R. Monroe, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 3, 1919, in Bonanzabar, Idaho. A resident for eight years, he was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy.

Mildred June Palmer, 95, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 20, 1906, in Kansas. A resident for one year, she was a restaurateur.
She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Hobart of Bangor, Maine; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

John F. Posik
John F. Posik, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 13, 1926, in New York City. A resident for two years, he was a retired motorman for the New York Transit Authority, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Masonic Pelham Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by two daughters, Lynette Martin and Renee Newton, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens.
Clarence 'C.J.' Rosa
Clarence "C.J." Rosa, 88, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 3, 1911, in Golden City, Mo. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired hotel sales promoter and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda; three daughters, Loretta Thorndal and Bonita Chavez, both of Nevada, and Diana Herrick of Tennessee; two sons, Dr. Duane Rosa of Texas and Bruce Vendramin of Michigan; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Einck of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one son, Richard Scholtes of Las Vegas; three sisters, Irene Schroer, Monica Kontz and Mildred McNerney, all of Minnesota; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Frank Scrantino, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 3, 1928, in New York. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired construction project manager for the Clark County School District.
He is survived by his wife, Brigid; two sons, Don Scarantino and Frank; one daughter, Carol; two brothers, Bob and Joe; one sister, Sally Ann; and four grandchildren.

Bernice Schwartz, 94, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local health care center. She was born Jan. 9, 1906, in Joliet, Ill. A resident for 57 years, she was a retired restaurateur.
She is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Ernst of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Nicole Shadley, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Cognac, France. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired retail saleswoman.
She is survived by her godson, Eric Browder of Las Vegas.

Lorraine F. Snyder, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born May 31, 1925, in Queens, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired pharmaceutical technician.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Sr.; one son, Wayne Carpinella of Las Vegas; two daughters, Carole Eaton of Las Vegas and Linda Barbera of Newport Richey, Fla.; two sisters, Marilyn Maricic of Kirkland, Wash., and Audrey Purcell of Albuquerque; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Noel M. Stowell, 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 26, 1929, in Los Angeles. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and Korean War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Dian; one daughter, Marla Grizzle of California; two sons, Jeff Stowell and David Stowell, both of Oklahoma; one sister, Betty Rohrs of Santa Ana, Calif.; and one grandchild.

William Thorne
William Thorne, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born July 22, 1920, in Indiana. A resident for 59 years, he was a 21 dealer at the Stardust and Sands for 20 years, chief of security at the El Rancho Vegas in the 1950s, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of American Legion Post 8.
He is survived by one daughter, Victoria Dolan of Las Vegas; one sister, Telcie Harrolle of Indiana; and two grandchildren.

Vernon Richard Ude
Vernon Richard Ude, 83, of Boulder City died Wednesday. He was born in 1917, in Minnesota. A resident for 22 years, he ran a grain elevator in Montana for 36 years. He was a World War II pilot and a flying Ace, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Distinguished Flying Medal. He worked for the Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department and helped build the clubhouse on the golf course.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; three children, Lois Olsen of Helena, Mont., Jan Bailey of Great Falls, Mont., and Wayne Ude of Whidbey Island, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

John Owen VanDerbeck
John Owen VanDerbeck, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 3, 1922, in California. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired elevator constructor, a World War II Army veteran and a member of International Union of Elevator Constructors.
He is survived by one daughter, Jannette Long of Grantsville, Utah; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
