Letter: Kournikova sitting pretty
Friday, Sept. 15, 2000 | 11:13 a.m.
What's wrong with the press' fascination with Anna Kournikova? Here is a beautiful young lady, who happens to be a good tennis player, making tons of money. What's wrong with that? So what if she has never won a tournament. She's a great example of capitalism at its best -- and worst.
Sure she's being exploited, but she's laughing all the way to the bank.
Even if Miss Kournikova starts winning tournaments, she will always be remembered for her looks and her off-court maneuvers, rather than her tennis. Unfortunately, that's reality.
