Southwest Airlines, the No. 1 carrier at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport, will begin flights to West Palm Beach, Fla., beginning in January.

Dallas-based Southwest, which will have more than 160 daily flights to and from Las Vegas when it expands in the next three months, did not announce schedules and said it would determine next month whether Las Vegas would be among the nonstop destinations from the new city.

The airline has a growing Florida presence and already offers Saturday nonstop service between Las Vegas and both Orlando and Tampa. It also flies daily one-stop service to those cities and Fort Lauderdale.

Southwest will use Palm Beach International Airport for the flights, the 59th airport and 58th city for the company, which has become the nation's fourth largest domestic carrier by passengers boarded.
