Station Casino Kansas City leading in market share
Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000 | 4:17 a.m.
Station Casino reported $14.69 million in revenue during August, according to financial reports filed with the Missouri Gaming Commission.
Station passed Harrah's North Kansas City Casino & Hotel, which reported revenues of $14.67 million.
The commission is taking steps to revoke Las Vegas-based Station Casino's license to operate in Missouri after company executives failed to appear at an inquiry last month.
Company executives said the hearing was unfair. It focused on questions over a $500,000 payment to St. Louis lawyer Michael Lazaroff.
Station is expected to challenge any move to rescind its license, and will stay open during the appeal.
Flamingo Hilton reported its lowest numbers of the year with $5.9 million in revenue. Company officials cited construction work as one reason for the decline in business.
Kansas City's Argosy Casino reported revenues of $8.1 million.
