New CEO appointed at Summerlin resort
Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000 | 10:51 a.m.
The president of Regent International Hotels was named president and chief executive of the Regent Las Vegas hotel-casino Tuesday, replacing Darrell Luery.
Paul Hanley, the new CEO, has more than 25 years of experience in the hotel industry with companies including Omni Hotels and Hyatt. Luery will remain involved with the Regent, the company said, and has been named vice chairman of the board of directors for the general partner of the Regent.
"We are pleased to have an individual with Mr. Hanley's experience, stature and expertise join the Regent Las Vegas team," said John Tipton, president and CEO of Regent Las Vegas parent company Swiss Casinos of America Inc. "We are also grateful for Mr. Luery's contributions."
Hanley is the third executive to serve as president of the Regent Las Vegas this year. In January, Luery replaced Brian McMullan, who resigned from the company after serving as the Regent's president for less than a year.
The Regent was formerly known as the Resort at Summerlin.
