Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000 | 4:24 a.m.
Hikers found the body of Daniel Hudec, 25, Sunday afternoon in the Burro Wash, about four miles southwest of Willow Beach.
Hudec apparently died of dehydration and exposure, according to the National Park Service. Official results of an autopsy by the Clark County coroner are pending.
The location of Hudec's body was about four to five miles away from his home in Boulder City, where he was being investigated by police for beating a female relative on Sept. 5. The woman was treated at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Boulder City police said Hudec was being investigated for attempted homicide because of the severity of the woman's injuries.
No charges had been filed.
