Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000 | 11:54 a.m.
A 33-year-old woman was held in the Henderson jail this morning accused in the double slaying in an apartment last month.
Cynda Ann Wasso of Las Vegas was booked into the jail Tuesday on two counts of murder in connection with the Aug. 22 slayings of David A. Bender, 21, and Steve M. Szany, 22, in the Sunset Winds Apartments on the corner of Sunset Road and Eiger Way.
About a week after the slaying Ralph Eugene Goodman, 23, of Las Vegas was arrested in connection with the slayings. An arrest warrant has also been issued for 31-year-old Stephen Ciolino of Las Vegas. Ciolino has not been arrested.
Officers were called about 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 22 after the report of a fight in an apartment at 551 Eiger Way. The officers found two men dead in the apartment, police said.
The killings are the second double-slaying in Henderson this year -- a city that had no homicides in 1999.
On March 3, Armored Transport of Nevada guards Richard F. Sosa, 47, and Gary Dean Prestidge II, 23, were gunned down in a shopping center parking lot during a robbery.
