Hit-and-run victim unidentified

Police found the woman on the sidewalk beside U.S. 50 just west of the intersection with Pioneer Trail. Officers and paramedics tried first aid, but the woman later died at Barton Memorial Hospital.
Evidence found at the scene suggests the woman, described as being about 60 years old, was hit by a vehicle while walking on the roadway. She carried no identification.
Investigators are seeking people who may have witnessed the accident.
